drmark12pa
I'm wondering how to turn off my C4 garage thermostat when my garage door is open so as to disable the in garage heater.I've attached a screen shot of my current programming with resultant monitoring settings and it continues to appear like the system is still on HEAT after I set HVAC for off as I do not see any other programming that turns it off completely. What I use is variable to turn the heater on/off and based on that variable it determines what the heater is set at (usually 38F in the winter) but I want it to completely shut off if the garage door is open. EDIT Got it figured it.... it is now working....
Cyknight
What's the programming to change the variable?
Matt Lowe
i would be programming this off the change in your garage door sensor. when door opens grab current setting and shut off. when door is closed set temperature to holder and turn on heater
drmark12pa
My concern was in the programming of the thermostat if the HVAC OFF was the same as the putting the thermostat into the OFF mode completely which is appears to be....
Matt Lowe
yes hvac state to off would be no heating or cooling but you would want to turn the fan to auto so it does not run.
