eggzlot
Looking at getting set up with Altice One. Their lifetime promo now is pretty much on par cost wise with Hulu Live TV plus Fios internet, so why not. I see they have Netflix built in and soon to add Amazon Prime Video. I guess first - are there IP drivers or IR? Second can the driver (IP or IR) auto launch Netflix (and eventually Prime Video)? Trying to mentally look at my current video distribution set up and see if I want to pull Netflix/Amazon off the Altice box vs a centralized streamer in my matrix. It has to do with updating my IP system with extra 4k encoders (I have 1) so if I can get cable + netflix + amazon all 4k via 1 piece of hardware and 1 encoder I am better off. But I also want the experience to be nice like “watch netflix” or “watch cable” and the different sources from altice one will play on that tv. Thanks. SMHarman
I'm not a user of it but colleagues who have it say it is buggy as hell, craps out all the time. Drops WiFi connection and wish they had stuck with Verizon. A peer recounts a conversation with his wife recently. Him "But Verizon is $360 more a year" Her "but it worked and I didn't have to hear you complaining about it when you worked from home"Just sayin'Sent from my E6603 using Tapatalk

Freezes often, error messages, 95% of sitcoms get the lat 10-15 seconds cut off, etc. And then the buffering though I have a fairly robust network. Hulu Live TV was cheaper than Fios tv by a long shot, but with the 2 price hikes in 6-7 months, and altice offering a “lifetime” price (I know taxes/fees are subject to increase) it now a tougher sell to stay with Hulu. Altice One 220 channels + 200/200 is $5 more than Hulu Live TV plus Fios 100/100. If both are buggy, why not take what has more content? Lastly, not sure if your peer is aware, but over the last 2 months they have allowed BYOR - bring your own router. So I’ll be using the Altice box in bridge mode and using my Mikrotik router and Cisco Switches. You need to let the onsite tech know during install and they will put it in bridge mode, or if its now after install you call tech support, they will walk you through it and do something to port 4 as that is the only Ethernet port you can use for bridge mode. msgreenf
