Shairbridge Basics

Recommended Posts

Hi all. Starting to use the system now and was wondering about transport controls in shairbridge.

i get album art but can’t use the slider on the C4 app (iPad) to FF/REW through a song and the next/ back buttons don’t work I.e to skip to next song in a playlist. I have to use the controls on the iPad or iPhone in Apple Music to be able to do anything.

Limitations with shairbridge? Something that can be programmed?

Any other tips or tricks that would be helpful to know?

Thanks!

Next or Previous track should work within the C4 UI

But unfortunately C4 does not support a slider to scroll to a precise point in a podcast 36 minutes in. You would need to use the native app for that.

What music app are you using on your iDevice with Shairbridge?  There may be other options or other music services that you could use.  I believe that everyone who is a Amazon Prime member has access to Amazon Music which is fully integrated into C4 so that could be an option.  If you use Spotify then Spotify Connect works better than Shairbridge.

Yeah, we use Apple Music for CarPlay integration and amazon prime music but that’s more limited. I’m ok using shairbridge even though it’s not as integrated for right now but may end up switching to one of the native apps at some point. Thanks!

I used Apple Music for a long time for the same reasons as you.  However, I eventually moved to Tidal as the C4 experience looked so much better.  And all I can say is that it is great and I am so glad I moved! Admittedly, I am now paying for both services as my kids have insisted on staying on Apple Music!
