Turn on kitchen light when garage opens, how to turn light off?

THAT is actually my preferred method, as Macros are the easiest to track.

 

But the bigger point was that he was looking for exactly that:

Not to beat the horse, but the event is door opening and the macro is the timer and its actions.  You’re describing what I did. 

as for the bigger point about he light being on….this is easily solved: if event with light off then macro1 else macro2 (or stop)..

....So getting back to the original thread, and what we're trying to solve here is the fact that somehow, the light is turning off even on a regular 'on' scenario.

 

OP - if you can't trace the programming, at this point simply delete the existing timer and create a new one, using one of the mentioned methods above
