wappinghigh
This is incredibly exciting. I've just upgraded the Rocki with the latest firmware and I now am streaming straight off the Spotify app on the iphone and out via the Rocki. (edit..OK it's via airplay right now..but when this gets working!).... Next: Connect up the Rocki to the C4 Matrix and... bingo!!!!
wappinghigh
Awesome!!!!*This* is why Control4 still ROCKS!It's hanging onto "old" tech in something like the C4 analog Matrix. Some things will NEVER die! ANALOG is one of them. It remains open. And useable. Good on you Control4 for keeping that matrix in your product line up!!!! alanchow
Never heard of rocki before. Though there are several integrated solutions for spotify which include AirPlay (via wireless music bridge & xbmc/plex auto room on) and sonos (via their spotify driver which allows full searching via control4 ui's). wappinghigh
^Sure. Spotify connect is a "purer" (non) airplay way of streaming from the Spotify app. But How am I supposed to set a Spotify device password on a set of NOC's speakers or the Rocki? What the??? Cyknight
Wait - so is the Rocki just an airplay receiving device for Spotify, or something else?Always good to see more options, but if it's just an airplay receiving device (or being used as one) I'm having a hard time understanding the enthusiasm? More importantly ROCKI works with UPnP and DLNA standards so you can use both Android and iOS to stream to ROCKI over wifi. For example, we have just released Spotify Connect integration which allows you to stream directly from the Spotify app over wifi. In our Android app, SoundCloud, Deezer and Last.FM have also been implemented.

Cyknight
Wireless Music Bridge from C4, Netplay from VideoStorm, now Rocki. More options. As I said, I like options so it isn't meant as a downer at all, just trying to gauge if this is bringing something new to the table.
wappinghigh
^ Spotify Connect. Like I have said before, this will become huge. (If I can get it working via the Rocki properly) LOL
ROCKI
Did you receive the OTA update on your ROCKI? If so, all it should take is opening the Spotify app and slecting ROCKI in the app. What are you having trouble with?

You can "Airplay" a track playing in the Spotify app to the rocki (or any airplay compatible device) or you "Spotify Connect" it to a device (like the Rocki) or any other device which has SC embedded.. wappinghigh
This doesn't sound that excitingSent from my iPhone using TapatalkHow about $49 exciting?AND you can buy it online (like every other product out there)AND you can set it up yourselfAND it has SpotifyAND they will more than likely quickly upgrade it to support many other music streaming services... Like I've said before It's everything products like the WMB should be...
wappinghigh
Of course the WMB can be better integrated within Control4. That's a given. Sure I would have bought it if it was a "no brainer" to walk off the shelves and stick in my project.... But support and R&D the product better... And sell and market it properly. I did say the WMB could be better integrated. But integration isn't everything in a device like the WMB. You've got to support, upgrade frequently and develop it... wappinghigh
It's all about an R&D attitude and culture that directly supports and gets rapid feedback from customers as to what they are doing and thinking, then have the ability to quickly upgrade your product line up. In the music services space. It's moving at lightning speed. It's even caught out the big players. Apple included.
