I'm looking into buying C4 solution but don't want right now if a new or updated line is eminent. Anyone have any info on this?

BTW, I am looking to control my HVAC, Alarm system, and Jandy pool controls.

Thanks,

Every year C4 updates software and hardware, or at least it seems that way. I wouldn't wait, what they offer now shouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon and plus it should only be getting better.

agreed. its the same with just about any CE product. as soon as you buy it, there's always something bigger and better coming out.

BUT - the plus side to a Control4 product - is most of the hardware is still current... AND these updates are just that - SOFTWARE updates... so the cost to install them is just the labor of your dealer to push it down to you. Even better - if you've got 4Sight - your dealer doesn't have to roll a truck and can do it remotely (unless complications arise). Usually an upgrade takes no longer than an hour, usually less.

pretty safe right now to get in... The back end gear like the controllers, amps etc, just came out with several version 2 and 3 lines that are way fatster. Kewl thing is they all work still both old and new. I run my fairly large system on the ver 1 htc and would love to upgrade but, im in no big hurry. Still does what it is supposed to, the newer gear just does it "faster"

right on, I have some old some new...Ver 1 htc, but a HC300 running things.....Ver 1 mini touch, which is fast enough for me...I really love my system..V2 remotes however....def invest in the v2 remotes

Hi there - can anyone elaborate on the differences between version 1 and 2 remotes? I've heard a lot about a much better v2 remote, but they seem the same from the outside for me.

First of all, the V.2 remotes have the colored ABCD buttons, and operate the list navigator a little differently.

Second of all, the LCD glass was re-done, and is sturdier to avoid breakage on dropping the remote, etc.
