joed
Before someone beats me to it, I do understand that this is not a Public forum. That CytexOne owns this site and can do whatever they/he wants to do with it.I just found it disappointing that interesting discussions were censored, but if that is the way they want it then so be it.I think this attitude will lead to less interesting conversations. My only wish is that everyone is held to the same standard. I can pull out some other postings that were far more insulting than what I said.- Joe
RyanE
I don't know. For someone who only has 67 posts, a good majority of them seem to have somewhat of a bad attitude.I also don't run c4forums.com, and haven't requested that any posts be 'censored', but can certainly see where anyone who would want to would consider themselves justified.I apologize for thinking you were talking about Alan's thread. I didn't realize you had a thread removed.RyanE

Maybe I need to find something else to do for a while.
danlevine
Threads are not typically censored. In fact out of the > 15k threads we've probably moved 3 or 4 out of the mix. If you have a bad vibe on the whole thing it just brings everyone down. don't be a hater, be cool to everyone and you will have no issues here. if you upset anyone, especially some of the c4 guys that are all about the tech, you will definitely not be favored. some of these guys go out of their way to help everyone out, and it's important to respect them as well as appreciate what they do in their free time.we are all about freedom of speech and letting everyone speak their mind. but if it's bumming some of the cool, true blue members of the forum out it will surely be dealt with appropriately.everyone who contributes here is awesome. the old addage if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it doesn't always apply, but should fundamentally. it's totally cool to call someone out or even c4 if they need to do better on something. but to harp on something and make everyone upset is just totally uncool.. we are all in this to have a place where anyone can go to get high quality information. not to hear people be mean to others or complain. it doesn't help anyone.this site will always be information free. but it's also a positive place. joed
What I learned over the last couple of days is that if you call out one of the "chosen few", it doesn't matter where you are right or wrong, the backlash will turn the entire thread negative. I find that unfortunate. A simple "Joe, I think you are incorrect. Here is why......". Would have moved the discussion forward in a positive way. Instead it became about how I pissed Alan off, and how bad that was for everyone. How does that help the conversation? What I ask, is that in the future everyone have an open mind when they read these posts and don't just act on preconceived idea's and likes or dislikes of the poster. And please please please read the entire thread before posting.

Nothing.I personally had all my friends over when I crossed 100 (took 2+ years) and we all had a good time playing with weatherbug and trying to put CDs in the 777 would stump the AMG tagging service. Now I am looking forward to the big 1-5-0 coming up. It just bums me out when these milestones fall within the holiday season because they are always overshadowed and never get the attention they truly deserve. jbs
When I read Wayne's post I decided to go see where I was. I found out I'd just passed 400 (this is ~406) with nary a candle or balloon in sight. I'm going to go back now and delete a few of my posts so that I can write something really profound and moving for #400. Maybe, "Ask not what your home automation system can do for you, ask what you can do for your home automation system." Something like that . . . --Jason
waynechi
Hey WayneI am all about a special announcement on the top of the forum when you reach 150 Well when I do get there, its going to be on this thread. I need to call the caterers now and start planning for the event.Dan, btw I would watch your back if you know what I mean. While you've been busy doing other stuff Ryan's been sneaking around trying to pass you on post count. I think all these empty "official stance" and "I can't tell you" posts are just a ploy to knock you off. Be careful man.
