Adidaswood
Had my basement finished. Some wires appear to be too short. nothing I can do now unless I ask them to re run them. Wires consist of: Network Cat6 HDBaseT Sheilded Cat6 Speaker Wires RG6 They are long enough to reach the top of the rack but not likely all the way to the bottom. I might be able to move around a few pieces of equipment. What about Patch Panels. I know patch panels are ok for network, that's how we do it at work. I also assume the speaker wires and rg6 will be fine What I'm mostly concerned about is the HDBaseT (Binary\SnapAV) HDMI Matrix? Thanks for the help. SMHarman
Connections on hdbase t are sub optimal but possible. If rerun is possible set them at it. The rest all go nicely into a patch panel.
AdamT
You will be fine. Just use Cat6 rated jacks and connectors. Make sure you maintain the twist and all will be well.
tekki70
if you really want all equipment in a rack, buy a small wall mounted rack for short wires, and hook them up to the gear in their, otherwise, just mount whatever to the wall there and connect your gear. honestly here is what I would do Extend if for lan use Extend if for Control mount a HDMI balun to the wall and use longer HDMI to reach from the rack gear to the Balun, I don't like using any unnecessary terminations when using baluns.
