knowitall
Because IP control isn’t “just perfect” and has a laundry list of things that can affect its performance. They wrote Samsung TV IP drivers arguably the best selling device going into peoples homes and it’s still flakey 1 year in. And what your describing about IP address change is SDDP, but that’s a C4 thing, so go over to an Apple forum and shake your fist at them for not accommodating C4

That's why they still can't quite bring themselves to put those IR remotes (and bluetooth ones as well) all locked up in the basement without them batteries in em, way away from the TV and receiver.. am I right guys? MSG knows this too - he just aint sayin' it...

Ever in years on a TV or other device controlled via IP by Control4... not ONE... EVER?? Still If you say so I guess I will take your word for it.. How big is your network> How many IP controlled devices?

Use the voice search often You guys must have one heck of a stable network an' all.. who are you guys? FBI? Based at the Pentagon? YA'll get each and every one of your network devices and IP devices hand checked and installed pure and clean as the virgin snow and firmware upgraded by some sort of secret service blokes? You have a certified network that is hand filtered by the CIA 24/7and never ever sees the WWW an' all? Ya'll keep track of every 90 plus device on that network have every device on static IP.. yep every one..all your 6 computers, all your iphones, droid pads.. every one and rock solid. And other devices never ever hit your networks with dynamic IP... yep you screen everyone as they come in the door.. And ya'll never double add a static IP.. Damn I'd love a network like that but alas I guess I aint fastidious enough. Rock on C4...

I envy your networks. I really do. That's just great. Unfortunately life aint like that for me. I got daughters, devices recycled, old ones, never stop adding new ones, 10 Sonos (now dropped to 5) etc etc....Rock on C4 Anyway. No IR remotes at all... that's awesome. Truly. Have a good one. A phone is only as good as the cellular network...
wappinghigh
Sure. No girls, no random visitors, no power outages, no parties with 75 iphones, no viruses, no random guys adding devices, no devices dying randomly, no devices with bad API's, no third party drivers that are no longer supported, no documentation that isn't updated.. no switches or devices with some random firmware change, no cyber attacks... Yep. none of these are direct problems of Control4 I agree. Pity the platform has to live in a normal family and in the real world but.....
