1.7 He

Recommended Posts

No, you can *read* the programming using HE 1.6 but it's not recommeneded to make any changes using 1.6 to a later project as it can really break something. Might give him a call and ask why he didnt leave you the new copy of HE :)

There were some fairly significant changes made in 1.7. I would take thecodeman's advice and NOT modify any programming with that older edition of Composer. I'd be on the phone with my dealer about 5 seconds after I realized he didn't update it.

The current license agreement for Composer HE allows you a perpetual upgrade to the current version required to support your current system software version. Since you are running v1.7 you are entitled to an upgrade to HE v1.7. Contact your dealer and he can provide you access to the latest upgrade software for Composer HE.

My dealer upgraded my HC500 last week to 1.7 but didn't leave me the HE software. Can I continue top use 1.6 ? Is there an upgrade by internet option on the C4 website? I can't seem to find it.

Thanx

Actually it's just a Link that your dealer will provide for you.

Yes - currently when you purchase Composer HE you are entitled to free updates to it as your system gets upgraded (must come from your dealer). Again correct that you DO NOT (!!!) want to edit your system with the wrong version of Composer HE in ANYWAY!!!! Just a few weeks ago we had a client that did this and it FRIED (!!!) his system. We had to spend quite a few hours fixing it. So I STRONGLY advise against it. Get the correct version in place then you'll be fine.

What's new in 1.7 - or can someone post a link to where this is listed on the C4 web site. On the docs page (http://www.control4.com/products/documentation/) they don't seem to list any 1.7 docs. I don't use C4 for media, just for lights and thermostat. Should I bother upgrading?
