Jack shaft garage door opener that works with C4

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Hello!

I am interested in putting in a golf simulator in my garage. This would require me to change out my standard garage door opener with a jack shaft opener (It mounts to the side and allows the garage door to open up higher, out of the way of my backswing).

Currently my standard lift master garage door opener’s which are probably about 12 years old use a CardAccess receiver that hard wires into the opener. See attached photos.

I’m just wondering if I can maintain the same CardAccess transmitter set up in the new opener. Or at the very least away so that control for can still control that garage door. It’s a three car garage so I have two other openers using the opening system and want to just have it be the same process and appear in the control4 app the same way. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

You're most likely going to end up with a liftmaster, and which case I'd move the card access to where your wall opener button is, solder the wires to the button (not the terminals on the back of the wall opener).

While there is a handy device that is supposed to make it easier (no soldering to tiny terminals) they don't work with the most common shaft opener.

I have 4 - Liftmaster 8500w openers, and am fully functional in C4 with no added hardware.

I’ve always been perplexed by these threads with folks soldering in relays and what not. I think I had an issue one time when liftmaster changed something and then I switched to a different/newer driver. Has been solid.

Cinegration Garage - Liftmaster MyQ is the driver I’ve been using.

Outdated info bud - that driver isn't available anymore. Still supported AFAIK, but you can't get it anymore.

Well then that would explain why others are looking for other solutions. :)

Driver has been solid for me, sucks it isn’t available for others.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
