13 hours no Director restarts…assuming my push notification is working. lol. Im definitely not trying to upgrade again. lol.

I’d definitely keep an eye on the used market as well. I got mine for under 3k, and I know someone else who got one for under 2.5k.

Looks like I’m downgrading. Throwing in the towel. Back to 3.4.1. Still lots of errors in the director log, but maybe they are just false errors. Real key will be that Director doesnt restart anymore. So guess I will see what happens throughout the night.

I’m also getting these messages on Director start up, which look concerning to me but maybe they are normal.

I did the upgrade…..and we are back to director restarting every 2 hours. Sigh.

I appear to have everything running smoothly again I think...lol. Downgraded everything to 3.4.1 and then restored a 1 month old back up. Now Im just seeing these kinds of messages in director log, but not seeing any director restarts again so far. Reimaged all my controllers back to 3.4.1 and restored to a backup from a month ago. Added the recommended push notification to capture a director restart. Still seeing a lot of errors in Director log. Wonder if these are normal. Either way, guess will see what happens. Also wonder if this has been an issue for awhile now and to upgrade to 3.4.2 made it more prevalent.

unfortunately I guess it wasn't that, as the problem appears to be worse now. SMH. I think something with the move to 3.4.2 really messed something up. Didn't have these issues before updating. Playing around now with restoring backup and reimaging controllers to see if I can get to a steady state. Director was filled with all kind of errors.

Luckily I know the last driver I added, so removed that one and testing again. Fingers crossed thats all it is.

So looks like Director Restart is what is going on. Any suggestions on where I go from here?

Where is that exposed being able to trigger off the director reboot?

Maybe something more for me to investigate. Just tried launch the on screen guide in a room and that uses the Core 3 and it gives an error Lost Connectinf to Director, Attempting to reconnect. Weird that the app, remote, etc are obviously connecting to director though. There is a gremlin somewhere Nevermind on the onscreen guide piece. A reboot of the Core 3 fixed that problem. So back to my session issue only now. Lol

I’m still rocking my issue since this update. I’m one of my rooms after watching a source for about 1.5 hours, the session will disappear in C4. Nothing turns off and no indicators on the TV screen. It’s just when I open the phone app it doesn’t show there being a session in the room. If I look at my halo remote it thinks the session is still there but if I hit any remote buttons like volume it will show the currently volume on the remote but does nothing on the TV nor does the volume slider change on the remote. If I go back to watch and select the source that’s showing on the Tv all works again. Haven’t waited another 1.5 hours to see if it re-occurs after that though. With that said I can consistently make this happen. I did try turning on all 13 TVs in the house to see if any others had this issue, and interestingly enough even the room I can consistently make this happen on didn’t lose its session after over 3 hours. But if I return everything off and run the test again with just that room on, problem is back. Other than the upgrade to controller version no other modifications have been made to the system. Should add controller is a CA-10. Also have an EA5v2, a Core 3 and a Core 1 in my project. (Don’t ask, lol)

On the Halo it actually still thinks/displays there is a session, but the buttons do nothing until I go select the source again. Then the buttons work again. This is super annoying. It just happened again after watching as source for under 2 hours.

And now at 3:40 am I just had a random zone turn on playing Pandora while no one was awake. Which has never happened to me before.

Since this latest update I’ve been having a problem with sessions disappearing. Example. I’ll be watching a cable box on my tv. After being on for a couple of hours I’ll open the phone app and the room will show no active sessions. So I have to select cable box again to then be able to control anything. Not unique to the phone app, also happening on my Halo remote. Haven’t messed around with it enough to know it occurs after 30 min or and hour yet. Also have noticed recently I have been seeing a similar problem listening to Pandora. After playing for awhile all of a sudden the listening session will just disappear like I ended it. Has anyone else seen anything like this before?

@IntrinsicGroup have you guys thought about a second confirmation to open the doors. Like you have to double tap the button or click through an ok I really meant to open the door. Driver has been working great, but I do notice sometimes I accidentally open the door when just scrolling through navigator on a touch screen

Something else to consider is C4 is Airplay 1. I think that on its own has a couple of second delay for buffering.

I’m seeing 5 secs in my system. Room already on so no waiting for amp to start. Apple Music paired to shairbridge. Select a song, song starts gets to 5 secs and then I start hearing it. With that said I don’t have any clipping of the song. So when the sound does start at the 5 sec mark it is the very beginning of the song. Happens if I switch to another song as well. Exact same 5 sec experience. I have a CA10, EA5v2 and a CORE3, Triad Matrix, Triad PAMP, all ubiquiti gear, AC-HD APs. Delay hasn’t been new for me. I always just assumed it was C4 doing some sort of buffering. Especially since once things do start playing I haven’t missed any of the song.

Would love to try it out for you. I haven’t purchased the driver yet, but am keeping an eye on it to see what features get added as I really want to buy it. For the price of the driver I’m hoping to see a few more features to justify the price for me vs just continuing to use the Solar edge app.

It’s still officially blocked, but someone on this forum modified the driver properties changing the name and that got around C4 blocking mechanism. Combo of that modified driver and then the license from the company works without issue.

I have like 8 shields in my house. Absolutely love them. Have had zero issues, can direct launch apps, never had a performance issue. I’m coming from Fire TV Cube 2 gen to shield so can’t speak for direct comparison to Roku.

Cool glad it’s working! Note in my setup I didn’t do anything with pathfinder though. Yeah that makes sense the fixed volume. As you will be controlling volume from the matrix vs the AVR.

Don’t know if it’s exposed through the API but if you could report the total production and consumption for that day that would be cool as well. That’s one of the stats I look at the most in the actual Solar Edge app itself.
