Nick0li
Hello, I have a HC-800 as my main controller and Control4 amp upstairs on the servers rack in the network closet. I recently installed an eight 8 speaker with 2 in ground subs garden system out by the pool. I ran the speaker wire to the Guest bedroom down stairs and connected the garden speakers to a Sonance amp. There is no cat5 cable or anything running from the guest room to the network closet. I have a spare HC-250. Can I connect the HC-250 to the Sonance Amp in the guest bedroom and slave the HC-250 to the HC-800 using the wifi interface in the HC-200? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
DanITman
That will work assuming you are still on OS2. HC-250 won't work on OS3 and will limit your upgrades in the future. Nick0li

Nick0li
We use the OS3 app. This is the controller, I logged into the Ubuntu network app. Is this not an HC-800? I’m not there at the moment so I cannot confirm.
msgreenf
HC250 can't be used with OS 3 Nick0li
Nick0li
HC-800 can though?

Nick0li
What Control4 device do I need to purchase that has wifi to connect my Sonance amp downstairs to the controller upstairs?

Nick0li
So I would make the EA3/5 a secondary controller that will connect to the Hc-800? Thanks for the response!

Nick0li
Thanks! What about this Control4 device? Is OS 3 compatible? If it is, would this work as well or is it obsolete?
TFlury
If you don't need zigbee you could use a Triad One as well. Its about 60% the cost. You will lose out on being able to relay trigger the amp though. Edit* 60% the cost of an EA3

Nick0li
Hey Tflurry, The Sonance amps stay on all of the time so that is not an issue.
TFlury
Then I would say it comes down to how much space/budget you have, the Triad 1 is a little larger than the EA3 but cheaper. The EA3 would give you more options in the future. Both will allow you to connect to the system using WiFi and give you streaming music through C4. I have never ran either over WiFi so I don't have any real world comparison to say which would be better there. Nick0li
robbie3130
Triad one is what you want Nick0li
