Anenna extensions? - Core3 - Rack has metal top shelf

Recommended Posts

We've deployed a Core3 and I'm wondering about the Zigbee and Z-wave antennas directly under the solid top shelf of the top of the rack. The antenna are not pointed up at a 90.

Anyone have thoughts on using an extension to put the antenna on top of the rack? Worth it or ignore it?

C4 has their own external one made for zigbee, which is cheap enough that I wouldn't mess with 3rd party wifi ones for 10 bucks cheaper: C4-AK-3M

Zwave there's plenty out there, I'd go with one made for fibaro home (dual frequency).

And yes, that would be smart to do (we usually try and plan to use a secondary controller if reasonable that isn't the main rack which is another option of course - make use of that core mounted behind a TV)

Yes it's well worth the hefty $25 Msrp price tag. I use them on all just about all of my installs where the main zigbee controller will be in a rack.

Aren't you supposed to be on vacation? :)

Thanks. That looks better than I imagined. I was thinking just a cable, but it's the whole thing. Cheap at 30 bucks.

I'll look for z-wave antenna. Do the Aeotec range extenders work with C4?
