xc420
After getting frustrated with the on-screen navigator for music selection, I've finally given up on it. I'm surprised Control4 didn't fix this huge flaw ages ago. Here's something I came up with in a relatively short time. It's about a thousand times faster for music selection/navigation and the TV doesn't have to be on.
thecodeman
But a pc has to be on.. Just sayin'
xc420
That is true but my PC is on 24-7 so that really doesn't matter much to me. Before this my TV had to be on as well because I don't have any touch-screens and it's too much music to navigate on a remote.
wingzz
so are you going to share this one also??your making some cool C4 toys, you might want to get the SDK for V2.0 and sell some of them in the app store
xc420
I probably can't get the SDK 2.0 It doesn't matter the SDK 2.0 won't help any to create apps like I want. I'll need the Director SDK for those. so are you going to share this one also??I don't mind, but it might be a while. I'm trying to put together a good UI design for this. akg4y
How do you choose which audio zone is being changed?
xc420
I haven't decided yet, I'm still adding controls. I might add a menu bar at the top.
xc420
Not much free time, but I'm still working on it. If someone with a touchscreen is willing to capture some c4soap commands please email me, thanks.
thecodeman
I hope all this doesn't break in 2.0 if they change the security up.
xc420
Well I'm sure I could reuse some of this code in 2.0.
RyanE
xc420: What you *really* should do is go on IRC to the #control4 channel on efnet and ask if someone can give you WinNavigator and Composer 2.0.I hear you'll have a lot of success doing that. Heh.RyanE
xc420
Yeah, their not to friendly on that channel for some reason except for buppie. I'm still looking for WinNavigator by the way, but not composer2.0;)

xc420
This is uploaded to the File Library. It works with Network or USB audio storage.
xc420
I'll make a version that creates a .properties file the first time the program is run. That way it will only take a couple of seconds to discover music when it launches. Right now most of the time to launch is taken up discovering the Network share ID and Audio zones. There's probably a better way to discover Audio zones.

xc420
Last night I added "Party Mode" and the ability to add or remove zones to what's currently playing --sweet!! Next I'll work on controls for all the selected zones(power, mute, and volume), add playlist support, and add the ability to queue/play whole albums(put this off for too long). Oh yeah, also shuffle and repeat. I'll upload something after I finish all of this which may be a few weeks. Here's a cool LAF(look and feel) that I found called HiFi @ http://www.jtattoo.net/

ILoveC4
Very cool XC420. I was going to try this out initially and never got around to doing it. The app has come a long way and I would love the opportunity to test it out.

xc420
Next step, select albums by cover-art. It'd be nice to be able to switch between cover-art and list views. Here's where I'm at so far.
