Need help with ReadyNAS

Recommended Posts

For some reason my C4 system can not scan my ReadyNAS. I remember reading a while back that the ReadyNAS needs to have a certain setting set correctly. (I think it was the security mode, user or share)

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

I don't know if this applies to you but I initially put in:

\NAS\MEDIA

as my location and composer wouldn't scan.

When I changed it to:

\\NAS\MEDIA

it worked flawlessly.

Additionally make sure you add a user/password on Readynas Frontview and put in composer as the same and make sure the workgroup is the same (listed in global settings).

After doing a USB restore to get 1.82 upgrade working I lost my readynas connection.

The issue, Ive had is my readnas does not appear to have a spot for a username, only a password when creating a share.

I've been making do with a USB drive connected to the hc-300 for music.

This post inspired me to look into this again. My research suggests you may need to use the share name as the username also. I'll try this tomorrow

Good news to close- out my issues on this thread.

When upgrading from 1.7.4 to 1.8.2 I could not get my ReadNAs to be connected

I tried everything in my power, but could not help thinking I was missing something.

With an upgrade to 2.1 I can nw connect the traditional way and via DLNA to readynas without issue. I can finally return my USB drive to backup function!

I can only assume my install of 1.8.2 was buggy in this respect
