  1. I just tried the HC300 driver and man, it messed some things up, which i sort of expected.

My system was on 2.9.1 and I wanted to update to 2.10.1.  (also has a 250 in the project) While on 2.91 I removed the old HC300 driver and added in the new one posted here, the update manager said there was an update available for the hc300 to version 2.10.1 (same as the HC250) I thought it was very odd it was finding an updated version for the hc300 using 3rd party drivers. I started the update and got errors saying "failed to update driver" the update hung on for an hour without completing, I rebooted the controller and it is didn't come back online.

What is the recommended way of updating C4 OS with this driver? Disconnect it, then update, then reconnect it? Why is it trying to pull version 2.10.1 from the online database to the HC300 using 3rd party drivers.

Before the update failed, the hc300 driver was working to control serial devices so the driver looks like it does work to a certain degree.

I had to re enable director with sysman, now I am trying the update again form 2.9.1 to 2.10.1 without the hc300 identified.

I'll let you know how I make out and how things work in 2.10.1

  2. Just wondering why your not happy with any of the options listed above? Trying to get the absolute cheapest 24 zones matrix you can possibly find on all of the internet then getting your dealer to install something he has never used before is not a great idea. I hope your looking at the options listed above for more than price, the race to the bottom here is not ideal.

Anyways in the pursuit of trying to save a dollar and rig something up I have just got emailed this product this morning

    http://www.keydigital.com/Items.asp?ItemCode=KDMAX8x8&Company=KEY

You can buy 3 of the 8x8 matrixes and stack them together to make a 8x24 output. You need a crap load of rca cables and you have to cascade each zone in and out of each amp. It will also take up more rack space. Key digital products take way longer to set up than a Triad matrix and probably still won't be as good. They come on a static IP and even getting it to DHCP to your network takes some time. But never the less in the pursuit of saving a dollar and trying to guinnea pig something together this is another option. I have never used it before but C4 driver is listed on the website.

Guarantee your dealer will charge 2-3x as much labour to rig up 3 key digital matrixes then to put something ideal like triad in there and be done with it.

  3. I have done both and the MyQ solution is mediocre at best. Your wayy better off get get a z2io and nyce tilt. I have had service calls on MyQ. Its not that reliable.

Another cool benefit of doing it this way is you would also get temperature and humidity readout on your C4 navigators. Not that you would want humidity but knowing the temperature in the garage is handy for sure.

Make sure you program them to send a notification if left open for 10 minutes and automatically close if left open for 30.

  4.

Paradox with cinegration driver is the best I have seen the Evo system can do anything you want the c4 driver is top notch and the tm70 touchscreens are dirt cheap and way better than the dsc or Honeywell counterparts. Programming is super easy and end users like homeowners can change user codes and access very easily. If you need multiple partitions, access control or door control it's all there as well. System must be hardwired they're wireless options are weak
