There are not hard limits. It’s based on processing estimations and you should be fine.

Control4 in the UK say they is 100 number Core5 200 devices

thanks for the input everyone ~both me and my dealer agree ~will ask about Cote3 Replacing

it all just has a bad smell about it

I honestly don't know much about what devices or tasks utilize the controller's power, but I am running a Core3 with whole house audio (through a Episode Response amp/matrix), over 100 Lutron Caseta lights and shades, a few Hue lights, a few Kasa plugs, local video sources in five rooms, Ecobee HVAC controller, Genie garage door, NuHeat floor heater, four remotes, etc. without any problems or delays. I upgraded from a EA-3 and mostly saw an improvement in the time HE takes to load and back-up.

That good to know - Will tell my Dealer - i just smell a Rat

HC800 was working Brilliantly never missed a Heart Beat - had 3 dealer tell me to Buy a Core 3

To be fair to my dealer he will take the CORE3 Back and off set the cost against a CORE5

its leaving a bad feeling with him and me

What were you upgrading from that handled your processing load? What seems to be eating up processing? The Core3 is pretty adequate for 90% of projects that require 3 simultaneous streams of Ryff. Now that said, the Core series has not been without some launch pains (like anything else), but updates have resolved most known issues.

We had a HC800 and to honest we have not got a massive Project

9 CCTV Cameras / Sonos / Hue Lights / Texacom alarm / Q Motion Blinds 3 Number / 3 TV rooms all separate with Sky Boxes

All drivers from 3rd Party Come from Driver Central

Dealers deleting and re adding drivers at the moment to see if they can find the issue

Hello. I have some questions about the Core 3 controller. I am planning to run 8 zones of audio (Total 16 speakers) with an Episode DSP 16 Ch AMP. I will have a Core 3 controlling 2 TVs, and a Core lite controlling 1. Can a Core 3 fit the job for 8 zones Of audio? I don’t need all of them running separate audio streams, only a few.

Be very Careful - Get your dealer to confirm in writing that the Core 3 can run everything

Reason been - We updated to Core 3 after our dealer confirm everything will be fine -  We now have the Core3 Re Booting every few days - Control4 saying the Core 3 Can not cope with processing - Dealer looking into - my project is not big

  6. Update - DS2 has been OK now for 3 days and nights - So looks like that it was a Update issue

Intercom, been advised they is a issue with the Free Gateway which which C4 are working on

However when we refresh gateway and remote the T3 it does come back on - Which it did not on 3.3 with HC800 when this

Happened so that's one step forward.

  7. Updated the HC800on Friday to core 3

Dealer put the mesh onto my EA1 and then put the project onto the EA1 - then updated from 3.3 to 3.3.3 then added the Core 3

Then moved the project to Core3

Issues we are having at the moment are - intercom losing Rooms - at the moment we can not call the master bedroom.
DS2 losing Video and requiring a reboot to bring back ~ still have sound.

Are other people having these issues ?

You could certainly try.  I haven't tried it in HE, the username and password are reset back to defaults, and you may have to set the HTTP access settings on the DS2, and it will set the password on the first login of the DS2 after factory reset.

You can follow the setup instructions in the documentation, although it's possible some of the setup instructions are links to knowledgebase articles, which you would not have access to.

Ryan, we can Factory reset in HE however concerned about what is the default Password and all the links under 6.5 in the documentation take you the dealer site - Login required

As it states in the driver documentation, 2N changed their ONVIF configuration, and the current configuration on the DS2 if you were using ONVIF previously is incompatible.

You need to factory reset your DS2 and reconfigure using the latest driver and the DS2 web configuration.

    RyanE

Can we do this in HE and will it change the user name and password ?

Thanks, this seemed to work.  Interestingly enough, the continuous record feature seems to work for both the RTSP & ONVIF protocols.  Which protocol offers the superior image / picture quality?

Look like the Update to DS2 has broken the ONVIF connection to our Hikvision NVR

Can you please share you got the RTSP working - Having no luck at the moment

    Cheers

The Core/Halo stuff are full of bugs, will take sometimes to stabilize, don’t let frustration mount and control your decision, live with half functionalities for now until they iron it out, am sure it’s a focus matter for C4, just be patient …

Been very patient ~hence why still using HC800 and SR 250

One day I will need to change but not yet

Channel up/down is indeed an issue with the Control4 Dish driver and certain Hoppers, it's being worked on right now.

As far as voice control goes, surely you can understand that voice control sourced by a 3rd party system (Control4) doesn't use the same mechanism or transport as voice control from a native device remote.

Control4 can only work with protocols and libraries they have received from the manufacturer, and issues arise on both sides.

    Sadly, integration is not simple.

    RyanE

Why sell it - Why not just put Alexa into control4

I loved Control4, but now it just feels a bit painful trying to get everything to Work and Control4 dealers not telling you the full story

Come this web Site to see if anyone else is having the same issue's - Yes they are most of the time

Yes Control4 does a Job - Has a Software for My Phillip Hue Lights / Sonos Speakers / Q motion Blinds / Axxess Blinds / texcom Alarm However Control Door Station and Intercom - Total Rubbish - Have refresh Navs Programmed every night  now (3.3 hc800) -

If its made by C4 stay away - that's my view - Apart from HC800 and SR250 remotes - Solid Kit
