AMG1199 reacted to macosr in HVAC Questions - Looking at Rheem with EcoNet
The HVAC units are Daikin units. The contractor I am using prefers these because they can use commercial grade zone controls that are not specific to the HVAC units (Like Carrier and Rheem). It gives them more flexibility on zoning and, according to them, the only units they know of right now that can do this (at least from my understanding).

AMG1199 reacted to HomeAutomationNerd in Network file storage and long passwords with QNap
Last night I changed all the passwords on my QNap. I went with long complex auto-generated passwords, that look like:
(Password Example): Lkp#WEPU6QzdO?8)PvX6YAy1QxZaa2
Turns out the Control4 Network File Storage driver (or something in the network path) doesn't work with a password like that. After resetting the password to one simpler, shorter, and not having what appears to be forbidden characters, things connect and work again.
The error was "Unable to connect to the network share".
I put this here in the hope that the next person won't have to spend an hour of network debugging trying to figure that out.

Nothing against you wanting to get gear for cheap. Who doesn’t want that? You’ll just have to put in the time negotiating and comparing dealer’s prices against each other.
I do however have to roll my eyes at the ‘marginal’ comment. I mean really? Don’t start commenting how you think a business model should be structured, then make a comment like that. No expense is ‘marginal’ when you run a business.
Overhead? Insurance? Training? Employees? Tools? Software? K-Cups? Pens? TeamViewer license?
Marginal!
Again, you wanna fish for someone to sell you gear on the cheap, go for it, I’d do the same. As others have said, it’s been done with great results. Just leave it at that then, no need to wow us with your business acumen and percent signs.

"ROOM OFF" on SR-remote or touch screen turns the glowing LED on the WAP off. Useful if the WAP is ceiling/wall mounted in a sleeping area.

I'd like to know too then. Maybe reboot devices from touch screens? Can't think of much more.
