Preaching to the choir here.  If you think SR-260's are bad, you should try talking to Tesla about the failure rate of the big center touchscreen in Model S cars.  This thing literally has a guaranteed 100% failure rate.  Has an eMMC chip in it that is guaranteed to fail eventually.

Yeah but it's tricky to compare Tesla and their Touchscreens with and Control4 with their SR260 entry level flagship remote. Control4 is a CONTROL company and Tesla is a CAR company. When their remote CONTROL is garbage then it's like Tesla's engines/transmissions are garbage. The touchscreen on a tesla is such a small component, but the remotes on a Control4 system are CRITICAL.

  2. So this past week, I had several clients call and tell me that their remotes are substantially dimm. I checked the units, settings and they all are where they're supposed to be.

So I called Control4 and obviously these are out of warranty (18 months old) and I have to charge the customer to replace them? This should be the most reliable component of a Control4 system, outside of the Controllers, and it is a complete disaster.

I have about 20 remotes I have to RMA (not really because I'm getting charged). I don't know about you, but other dealers probably have the same issue.

Thing is the SR 250's out in the field all look good. I feel like the SR260 is a huge step backward and it's really a big disappointment for our clients.

Hi all, so I have a commercial client that has a light load that's about 800 watts and the adaptive phase c4 dimmer just isn't going to do since it's rated at 600 watts max. Anyone have a suggestion about supporting this much of a light load?

Why does the client not want to switch to a more energy efficient load with bulb replacements?

So the bulbs are specific to their application so they can't really change the bulbs. It's a bunch of lights on this load, about 30 bulbs

  4. Hi all,

Wanted to see if there was a possibility to receive HTTP commands to actually trigger an event in Control4 so I can trigger some lighting behaviors.

Basically, I have a customer that is running a billiards bar and wants the lights to turn on every time a tab opens for that billiards table. And when they close the tab for that table, then the light turns off. Any thoughts behind how I can go about doing this? I think I can get HTTP commands from the POS system/server.

Let me know what you all think would be a reliable solution for this set up.

    Still looks ugly AF.....

I just can't wrap my head around ahy Control4 doesn't start supporting Zigbee 3, so many great devices which can't be used.
Control4 using any Zigbee 3 device would certainly boost zigbee in general and that's needed as ZWave is doing much better

Yea, I gave up on c4 outlets.. I just use tp link plugs/outlets so I can just gest shit done. I couldn't wait any longer for next gen outlets

    Lutron Power Booster.

Just wire the outputs from C4 dimmer to inputs on Power Booster and then outputs from Power Booster to load. Can handle up to 1200W if flush mounted or 1840W if surface mounted.

    Thanks Crustyloafer,

Just to confirm, follow this diagram?  I'm using just one single c4 dimmer on an 800 watt load.

MyQ does show feedback but some of my customers have noticed issues with delayed feedback and no feedback at all when opening it from another source not C4. I would recommend a zigbee contact sensor on the bottom (some do bottom and top so you can know if its half open) or a garage tilt sensor.

I would definitely wire to the garage door rails or at the close position

The Myq driver keeps getting updated and you're better off just wiring this straight to the EA5

  8. Hi all,

I have a project that has multiple TVs in one room, that the customer just wants to control without changing zones. There are 3 Sony TVs, and he just basically wants to go to 'Watch' TV1 or TV2 or TV3 and then control each one. How can we get multiple Video End Points in one room, is basically what I need.

Any drivers out there that anyone knows of that can do this?
