  1. I’m only seeing “press” and “release” as supported button actions for the pico remotes. I don’t see a “held” action (supported on hubitat so I know it can work) which is needed for programming dimming actions. I’m wondering if there may be an alternative driver or driver version I need to support the “held” action. Is anyone familiar with this issue?
  2. I’m looking to buy a used, working C4-16AMP3-B and I found one but it has the older C4 logo. It is the same model name as the current model and I don’t see any revisions. Do the only difference appears to be the logo which I don’t mind because it would be in a rack anyway. Is this device current and would you all recommend purchasing or should I steer clear of a matrix amplifier with the older logo? Or maybe a used matrix amp altogether?
  3. My integrator was able to bring in all my dimmers, switches, and most relays/outlets but not the following device types: 1.) Motion sensors (HS-FLS100+ and Aeotec Multisensor 6) 2.) Light level sensors (HS-FLS100+ and Aeotec Multisensor 6) 3.) Generic I/O devices (HS-FLS100+ uses this) 4.) Garage Doors (GoControl/Linear GD00Z-4) Does anyone know if the Vera driver will allow these devices to be brought into C4 as motion sensors, light sensors, generic I/O, and garage doors? Also, two devices (relays for fireplaces) came in as lights - does anyone know if the attributes of those devices can be changed so it can be moved into the comfort section of a room and maybe the icon changed to a fireplace - or is this a limitation of the Vera driver?
  4. @msgreenfThank you Mitch! I thought there must have been another few steps - I'll raise that with them. Appreciate your help!
  5. At long last my C4 system is installed! My integrator was able to get many (not all yet) of my devices into the project. They were able to get the Honeywell Vista panel integrated using the CBM module. I can arm and disarm and see when zones are opened BUT I can’t take those zones and program off of them. I thought this was possible (ie programming off a motion sensor to turn on lights) but when I go into programming on Composer HE I don’t see any actions related to the zones to use in programming (only state of the system or panel). Also the zones only live in the zones tab under my security system in the navigator - we can’t break those out and put them into rooms under sensors (ie in the navigator put the foyer motion in the foyer room under security and sensors). Does my integrator need to enable something else to allow both programming off of zones, and also breaking the sensors into other parts of the navigator?
  6. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful - stating what is probably the obvious then, it sounds like it must be an issue with the driver itself with the latest C4 OS update? Can you or your dealer reach out to the driver author to alert them to the bug? Can't imagine you're the only one experiencing this problem. I'll let you know if I have any issues with my CBM integration but since that uses a different driver it may not be that helpful....
  7. This is interesting - I wasn't aware of the HSIM option over the CBM. Just curious, what are the use cases and benefits of using one over the other (aside from Total Connect being able to be used in parallel)?
  8. I don’t know if this will be helpful for you but for what it’s worth: I have a Honeywell Vista 21iPLTE panel being integrated with my C4 system. This installation is happening later today so I can’t speak from practical experience. However, the 4232CBM card that I installed in the panel for the integration specifically says it cannot be used with Total Connect because only one RIS (Remote Information Service - I believe) can be used at one time. I wonder if the stuff you’re experiencing may be a conflict between Total Connect and your 4232CBM if the panel can only support one or the other? What I don’t understand is that you say the old driver worked using both Total Connect and C4. I’m not questioning that this is true but it is surprising given the documentation for the 4232CBM says you can only use one or the other - I don’t know how the driver could over come that limitation but that’s far beyond my technical understanding. When you refer to the old driver was this a different version of the HSIM driver or something totally different?
  9. Similar situation here - we have satellite internet for automatic failover if the cable internet goes out. The dish has a heater on it to melt snow. I’d like to program it so the dish heater will turn on during hours when snow is expected and off when it isn’t.
  10. That would be great, thank you - appreciate your efforts and communication on this!
  11. Hey those look really good! nice clean installation - really nice! Thanks for sending!
  12. That's great - thank you for the update. This could be a good alternative to Vera if things fall apart with that integration. Look forward to hearing everyone's experiences. @sofakng how do people submit orders to the distributor?
  13. Good point - thank you. Appreciate your quick response too!
  14. Is there any reason that it would be a bad idea to buy a 4 or 8 zone matrix amp from eBay? Model numbers are current and of course buyer beware etc. The prices are a huge mark down from retail if I bought from my integrator. I assume there would be no warranty but the price savings may negate that. I also appreciate that buying used hardware doesn’t help my integrator but I need so many matrix amps the cost would be prohibitive to buy all that from them - I plan to buy many other things from them directly. Anything else I’m missing if I buy used?
  15. That’s a good point I’d forgotten about that option. Lutron Smart Bridge Pro is already in service for picos and shades. Thanks for the reminder will have to think about that direction too.
  16. Sorry about the rollercoaster - went with updates rather than full edits but that may have been a mistake....though it does capture my state of mind on this tonight Totally agree though it would be great if an updated driver was eventually released to buy even more time before I’m forced to replace with all C4 devices. I’d rather spend my money on new functions I need (DS2 for driveway gate control, touchscreens, keypads, etc) rather than replacing existing functionality (switches). Another nice option would be if a driver was written for Home Assistant so if the Vera died could migrate legacy zwave devices to that to get even more life. Or the best solution would be if C4 released decent drivers for their zwave dongle - 15 is honestly a joke compared to the number of devices on the market. I really wish they’d actually commit to that because it would be perfect to assist the transition from DYI to pro. Though they likely don’t because it could take away sales for dealers - which I get. But still frustrating overall.
  17. I just learned that Vera was purchased by a company called Ezlo. Apparently the Vera hub firmware will be updated to Ezlo firmware. Does anyone know for sure whether the Vera/C4 integration will continue under this new owner and backend? I’m concerned Ezlo hub doesn’t currently integrate with C4 and this could not bode well for continued Vera support. I’ve posted on their forums but hoped someone here may know too. My C4 system is being installed tomorrow (literally) and the Vera integration is critical to my install. I have a ton of zwave dimmers etc installed (carry over from when I was on SmartThings and then Hubitat and now migrating to C4). I need this integration to avoid several thousand dollars in unnecessary expense because my Jasco zwave dimmers and switches aren’t officially supported by the C4 zwave dongle. It would be crazy to rip all that out and have to pay all that money for function I currently have. But if this Vera integration goes away I won’t have any choice but to do that. Crazy frustrating. It also underscores why I’m switching to a pro system. I’m so tired of consumer grade stuff losing value because the company decides to change direction or whatever (see SmartThings abandoning open platform). I was just hoping the Vera would buy me time to move over to full C4 equipment more slowly (from a cost point of view obviously). UPDATE: someone from their forums replied to me: “All current 3rd party integrations out there with Vera, will not work with the Ezlo platform, as they have new APIs. Any such integrations will have to be written specifically for the Ezlo platform.” So it sounds like the Vera/Control4 integration will break - maybe soon. Does anyone know if someone is working on a new compatible driver? UPDATE 2: Suggestion on that forum is to not update to the Ezlo firmware so the integration won’t break. That obviously will only buy more time but hopefully that’s something. I haven’t seen this issue raised elsewhere on this forum and it is something everyone with Vera/C4 integration should be aware of. Insanely frustrating. Update 3: digging in more and it appears the acquisition isn’t new it actually happened in 2018. I was completely unaware of this when I went with this solution in August and have been prepping the migration since then. Was pointed out on the other forum that since C4 integration is direct via telnet and the Vera firmware has to be automatically updated then maybe the Control4 integration will last as long as you don’t updated the Vera firmware. Again I worry it will be EOLed and something will be pulled that breaks the integration. So I would not rely on this going forward. I’ll stick with it for my C4 install tomorrow and then I’ll slowly replace all my switches and dimmers with C4 to avoid this in the future.
  18. The sales sheet for this model says "The OL1000RTXL2U offers generator compatibility and delivers clean AC power with zero transfer time. Its sine wave output keeps sensitive equipment working by preventing unnecessary shutdowns that can occur with simulated sine wave output....Provides stable sine wave output (free of harmonics and distortion) without switching to battery mode when running on generator input power." I'm not an electrical engineer (far.....far from it) so this is the best explanation I could find - I'm sure there are others in this forum that understand the technicalities of what this mode is doing. "Generator Mode" is enabled in the configuration settings on the UPS. See Page 12 of the online manual. Hope that's helpful!
  19. The Kohlers have excellent power output too - top of the line standby generators. The interesting thing in our case was that the original cyberpower UPS I was using was totally fine for 4 days then it freaked out as described in the OP. If memory serves, I think there was something at the time that I found on a forum or their support saying that this is not uncommon for them - the tiny changes produced by any generator eventually (over an extended outage) cause them to freak out so you need a higher end model cyberpower that has more complex processing to handle very extended generator power.
  20. This is great feedback on both the Josh and T3s. Really appreciate the time you spent providing this level of detail. Josh sounds very very tempting. Look forward to your experience with the Nano and Core next year! Thanks again for taking the time!
  21. I just saw this post while investigating whether there are C4 drivers for Cyberpower units. I can tell you I had nearly the exact same experience as you - in my case I was running an OR500LCDRM1U. Half way through a 7 day outage a couple years ago it freaked out exactly as you're describing. I replaced it with the OL1000RTXL2U that you're asking about here. It 100% solved the problem. We haven't had another 7 day outage but we have been out for 4 days on this new UPS and it had no issues at all. You have to enable the "generator" setting which makes it more tolerant of the generator power. Frankly our generator power is already very good - we have two Kohlers and nothing else has an issue but it is what it is. The price and weight are far greater than the old one - and it requires a 4 post rack not a two post rack. I also installed the RMCARD205 which adds network connectivity which is nice. Highly recommend the upgrade - over the top for powering the rack for the 8-10 seconds before the generators kick on but no issues whatsoever with UPS errors now. Hope this is helpful for you (even if it is a bit of a late response).....
  22. Sounds pretty great! Thank you for the detailed feedback on your experience - sounds like they work great. Do you find they pick up your voice as well as Alexa from across the room? Any problems with responding from the right room when two hear at the same time? Also, curious why you want to remove all the T3s - I don't have any yet but was thinking I'd want some to blend physical control with voice - are you finding them unreliable or is it more an aesthetic thing?
  23. LOL - well then I guess you’d know Thanks for responding and for that info - I’ll certainly try it out!
  24. Does anyone know if the Blackwire driver for the UniFi Protect NVR supports pulling a grid view from the NVR? If so, how many cameras does the grid view support? Does the driver support just the UNVR or is the Cloud Key Gen2 supported? It would simplify things if I could just pull a 9 camera view up directly from the NVR to C4 navigators rather than pushing everything into an HDMI view on a computer and sending that out through an HDMI matrix..... Also, does it support events based off smart motion detection (i.e. an event if a person is detected on a specific camera)?
