SMHarman
Besides the obvious 2 vs 4 ru is there any difference. I know S1 vs S2 has the 50 vs 100 step volume but this looks identical on the spec sheets, even down to the typo that the V3 has a back-lit monochrome LCD! My vintage speakerpoint is finally EOL if I'm going to V3 so I need a matrix and amp. Sent from my E6603 using Tapatalk
-defunct-
Why not skip the V3 and go with Triad? Much better imho.
SMHarman
Because I'm looking at spending a few hundred bucks on eBay not $1200 on a triad. I just picked up an AMX Alero 8 which looks a lot like the Triad amp8. Just need to get some switch gear in the middle and see who wants a perfectly working 4 zone matrix amp Sent from my E6603 using Tapatalk

-defunct-
V3 would be much better than the V2. More granular volume control. iirc, the V2 goes up/down by 3-4% V3 goes up & down by 1%. 25 vs 100 volume points?

-defunct-
V1 and V2 are near identical. V3 is where a major change came. Triad is the next change and would be V4?
lippavisual
v1 and v2 differences were just internal fans I believe.
SMHarman
V3 spec sheet still talks about an LCD monochrome screen!Sent from my E6603 using Tapatalk

bdo21
What makes the Triad better than V3? I am also wondering whether to buy a secondhand V3 or wait to buy a new Triad in the future...Do these need to be setup by dealers or can I do it?Thanks! The dealer isn't selling a 16x16 for 3 sources and 6 rooms. Sent from my E6603 using Tapatalk
-defunct-
Any swap out would require a dealer since a different audio matrix switch would need to be added to the system configuration. SMHarman
