JSTRONG
Anyone know where else I can find RGBW tape lights with Control4 Compatibility? Blackwires Engine is no longer available
zaphod
You mean LED RGBW light strips? There are a whole bunch of options - including DMX, Hue controllers with generic strips, Wifi controllers with C4 drivers, very cheap IR controllers etc. And you can also buy Hue strips - I think they have RGBW as well as RGB. But they are rather expensive on a per foot basis. My preference is generic strips with Wifi controllers. You can get those for about $20-$30 for a 5m(16ft) roll including strip and controller. There is a C4 driver available but I have a hack controller using the generic IP driver and a RPi acting as an intermediate web server. JSTRONG
Thanks Yes LED strip lights. I was trying to buy these from blackwire ( I need 45 feet) https://www.blackwiredesigns.com/store/prolux-rgbw-24v-16-4ft-led-strip/ but they do not have this engine available any longer https://www.blackwiredesigns.com/store/engineering-solutions-dmx-rs232-engine-rj45xlr3/ I need something very reliable since its for a commercial location and the entire 45 feet needs to be controlled as one light
zaphod
Here is just one discussion. DMX may be the way to go. Controlling them all as one zone makes things easier, but you will need amplifiers to inject power as 45 feet is likely too long for only one power source. The DMX thread is also on the main page right now. Not sure if it is just RGB or RGBW:
Cyknight
Hmm, curious what happened to ESI, but I suspect they'll find a replacement soon enough. Even if they don't, DMX is still available using the native driver. The Enttec device yo use is expensive, but the driver works just fine through these at my own house: https://dmxking.com/artnetsacn/edmx1-pro Note that the Domaudio driver and unit (Blackwire) works much nicer in ramping etc and isn't putting as much of a load on the C4 controller, but you do have this to fall back on - so I'd still plan to use DMX
lippavisual
From what I’ve read, the Engineering Solutions box is still available on Amazon and directly. Not sure what’s going on with the Blackwire situation but they still carry the driver.
