Control4 (8 zone) matrix amplifier to PC?

blagodaria

Question

Hello, we work in a green school and want to build a 16 audio channels theater room so we have a  Control4 16 channel (8 zone) matrix amplifier we fould for less than 200$. We would want to connect it to a PC so we could program each channel and the audio to switch and dim from one channel to another so that the sound will move from one speaker to another. This will be done by the software. We have been told that we can not just connect the  Control4 16 channel (8 zone) matrix amplifier  to the PC and we need a controller and than connect it to the PC. Our question is could you please list all controllers and models that will work with the  matrix? This way we would look for the cheapest one second hand that will do the job. For example there is Control4 Media Player C4-MP1-E  or  RTI RP-4 RTI CONTROL CENTER  or  Control4 C4-HC200B-E-B
Thank you for your time and help.

Used HC-250 would be your most reliable "cheap" option. From your original post, I would not recommend this way forward.

You can't just hook the 250 and amp up to the network, turn them on, and expect it to work. A dealer is required to set this up. Mitch knows what he is talking about. Don't ignore his advice.

Sell it and get your money back.  Or hire a dealer and get it fully installed and configured.  You will not have luck using this without a control4 Navigator interface, controller and a dealer to configure it.
