TexasBill
This is some cool stuff.:http://blog.automatic.com/ Integrating your car with your phone to a level I have not seen before and then with NEST (your house). I would LOVE to have this integrated with Control 4. Bill
msgreenf
what would you want the integration with c4 to do? I had an automatic and i returned it..it wasn't for me....It was like a fitbit for your car...
pstuart
Your car can be a geofence for the system. But then again, Control4 really has no awareness of users or presence. Have to do it all with custom programming... There are some pretty cool integrations with IFFT and Automatic out there...
Cyknight
I find integration with NEST rather silly - isn't it's whole purpose to learn when you are and aren't there to begin with, and have temperatures where you want it when you get there/get up etc? Beyond that, yes Automatic is just a form of Geofencing for your car - and it can be used to some degree already using IFTTT, an email and appropriate drivers. Some form of more advanced integration would be nice however - say the device (or a similar) sends directly to your system, pre-built trigger points for instance ( even as simple as trigger 1-100) so that you're not doing things twice. Using an Ibeacon to auto switch MyHome or know what user(s) were in the room would be awesome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
pstuart
Yeah, when combined with Nest and their future trips mode, the nest would know when you are going to be home, and with its heat/cool to logic, you would come back to a house at the desired temp rather then when home, it starts cooling/heating your home back to temp. Just one of many cool features of IoT devices talking to each other.
TexasBill
I like the feature where it tells me what is wrong with my car, where my car is so I can know where it is at at all times, that I could say when I get within this parameter distance to my house turn off alarm - turning off the alarm puts it back on the schedule that i like. I just like connectedness.Bill
mr. happy
Wow, this could be really cool. If I could get notified when my significant other is driving my car, how fast, is she filled up before returning it, etc. As for notifying the C4 system of your location in order to trigger events, there are drivers currently that do that. Although, none that I know of that can pinpoint locations inside the house.

It would be less than $50 a room, seems like a drop in the bucket. I'm sure there are a lot of creative ways to use that for each person as opposed to generic motion detection. https://twocanoes.com/products/hardware/bleu-station
