phileaton
I put together a driver pack for the Wink API which includes drivers for the Quirky + GE Refuel and Spotter. The free beta is available here. Support for more devices soon. These devices are pretty impressive for the price. I have noticed a few "quirks" with the spotter, but overall they are minor and I think its a great value for the number of sensors it includes. When I picked up the Spotter I noticed the Refuel was on sale for $20 at Home Depot, a steal in my opinion. I also grabbed a Wink hub and a couple of the GE LED bulbs. The hub has Wifi, Z-wave, Zigbee, bluetooth, Kiddie, and Lutron radios for $50! Thats just crazy. If anyone uses the drivers let me know how it goes and what devices you would like to see support for next.
turls
Amazon reviews are horrible on the Spotter, but I assume the device has gotten better since most of those reviews were written--or you might not have wasted your time on this driver! Anyway, I found a new-in-the-box Refuel on Ebay "cheap", so I will at least give that a try. So what's everybody's opinion on a price point to look for on the Spotter for it to be worth it? msgreenf
I can't find the refuel on Home Depots website. Any link?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
turls
They dropped it from the web site. You probably have to find it on Ebay or through other 3rd party sellers now. Probably people that picked them up on clearance and are re-selling to suckers like me at a 100% markup. I don't live near any of these clearance deals so sometimes I play that game. So what's everybody's opinion on a price point to look for on the Spotter for it to be worth it?I noticed the poor reviews on Amazon and I was reluctant, but I knew I could return it locally if it was as bad as everyone said. It took me two tries to get the unit to link up with the Wink app on the phone. After that It worked right away. I have found that the temp and humidity sensors work as expected. I did have to reset the power a couple times because the motion(vibration), light, or sound sensors stopped responding. I think it was $30. I thought that was a pretty good price even if just for a temp/humidity sensor. I would hope a software update can address the issues with the other sensors. turls
Another red flag for me is some of the modes only operate on AC power (according to the reviews), I think humidity was one of them.
vstar
i picked up my refuel on amazon, should be arriving any day, i look forward to trying this driver out very much, i will have to order a spotty now, so many uses for such an inexpensive device (motion, sound, light, temperature, and humidity).thank you very much phileaton for all your efforts, it is greatly appreciated.i am not sure how extensive the api is but if a driver could be made for hub it would open up the zwave and lutron world very inexpensively. Currently there is the EV driver for the vera3 but that is significantly more expensive and only gives you zwave i believe.
turls
i picked up my refuel on amazon Might be on Amazon, but I don't think Amazon itself ever sold these--its a 3rd party seller. And every one currently on there is marked up pretty high.

phileaton
Z-wave and Zigbee dimmers connected to the Wink hub are now supported. Updated driver is available for download here or from your account history if you have already download.

phileaton
I just added support for garage doors via the Wink API. This means you can control your Chamberlain or Liftmaster MyQ devices via Wink. You do not need a wink hub to do this. Just link your Wink account to your MyQ account via the iOS or Android app. Enjoy!
digitaltrader
I haven't tried this yet but your driver sounds amazing!!! This could really open up the world of C4.
msgreenf
Question, i have the refuel driver up and running. It returns an integer. What does that mean? Like my tank says 17 but in the quirky app its 1/4. I can setup alerts for this number, but what does it mean?
phileaton
That is the percentage remaining. The Wink app rounds this to give an approximation.

This opens a lot of options up to C4 for end users. I want to go pickup a refuel now.
badjesus
Has anyone used this with Hue? To change colors and everything...
phileaton
Did you connect both the relay and contact connections from the Wink driver to the generic "Garage Door (Sensor)" driver available in composer? You need the relay connection to open/close and the contact connection for status updates. I don't have a Hue system to test with, so I don't know if it will work. It may turn them on/off and dim, but I'm almost certain it won't work to change colors. Now that the EV driver is available for free from C4 it seems redundant to add support in this driver though. badjesus
Heh, I was hoping no one saw that before I edited my post No, I thought I did but I did it real quick through RDP with a delay and must have just added the relay twice. I had missed that EV had a driver for Hue. I had never really looked at it before just saw it on Wink's site and was thinking of trying it out for a basement bar. vstar
wow, this great, thanks Phil, got my refuel on the weekend finally so i will be loading the driver in the next day or two.also i am very excited to see the myq support, i will be installing this also as I just installed a chamberlain garage door opener in the past couple of months.cant wait to get my spotter also. This is turning out to be the swiss army knife of control4 drivers.thank you very much for your efforts. badjesus
Has anyone seen relay yet? Beats my C4 touchscreen, hands down, especially seeing as it is $300 and will have full intercom ability shortly. Even at cost my touchscreen with intercom that barely works is more than that. If only we could have Wink work in reverse. I am glad I have C4 still, but man... there are so many things I could have saved A LOT of money on!
