Shaggy
I am not sure if I am posting this in the right section. I recently got Control4 installed in my home. I have a few questions. I was told I can't do a thing with installs as I would have to call up my dealer to have everything done like adding lights, tvs, receivers, and so on. Is that true? Also, can I not install drivers on my own either? Thanks for the info.
tbutman8
Both of those statements are correct. The system is dealer serviced.
christophers
that said, you can do a bunch of custom programming with composerHE software which has a ~100$ one time license fee.
Shaggy
Got ya. So why do I see all these drivers that can be bought/Downloaded? Do I just send them to my dealer and he can then install them? 3 hours ago, Christopher Spitler said: that said, you can do a bunch of custom programming with composerHE software which has a ~100$ one time license fee. What can I do with composerHE? Add lighting, smart things hub? What custom stuff can I do for an example?
StroTek LLC
lots of these driver that you see for sale, are meant for your dealer Composer HE will allow you to program certain actions to occur based on certain events or triggers for example: You opened the garage door.. turn on the garage lights.. set the thermostat to Home vs away and start playing your favorite music in the house
christophers
@Shaggy here's a programming example in my house. we each have a keypad (my wife and i) that enables us to "lock up" with the press of a button. all of this can be programmed on your own using composerHE, assuming all of the devices you're wanting to control are provisioned in your project (your dealer has to do that part). When custom button 'In Bed' on screen 'Morning/Night' in Master is pressed Turn off Living Set Direct RGB Color to 17 0 3 over 0 sec. on Master->TV Overhead Master Activate Lighting Scene "Main Area Night" Sets the lights color on Master->Hue - Bedroom Lamp to #9400d3 Turn off Entryway Turn on the Entryway->Porch Lights Turn off the Entryway->Laundry Lights Turn off the Entryway->Mud Room Exhaust Fan Turn off the Entryway->Mud Room Can Light Turn off the Entryway->Front Door Can Light Turn off the Entryway->Dining Room Lights Turn on the Entryway->Coach Lights Turn off the Garage->Garage Lights Turn off Patio Turn off the Office->Office Light Turn off the Master->Fan Light Turn on the Master->Hue - Bedroom Lamp Set the speed on Master->Fan to Low Turn off the Patio->Can Light Set the speed on Living->Fan to Off Invoke Scene number 1 on Living->HunterDouglas Platinum Select the Plex Master as the video source in Master Turn off the Master Bath->Exhaust Fan Turn off the Master Bath->Shower Light Turn off the Master Bath->Sink Lights Turn on the Master->UN55HU8550 Lock the Entryway->Kwikset Zigbee Lock Lock the Living->Kwikset Zigbee Lock Close the garage door on Garage->Main Garage Door (Control) Close the garage door on Garage->3rd Garage Door (Control) Send string GET /remote/control_command/suspend/index.htm to Living->Meural TV Right Send string GET /remote/control_command/suspend/index.htm to Living->Meural TV Left

Zigbee light switches, smart things base? all the other fun c4 products i have zigbee locks (kwikset 916), the media is all controlled through c4 and the receiver (denon), the c4 light switches of course. i dont use smartthings, this is what c4 is for 11 hours ago, Shaggy said: Wow! All with a push of a button through the control4 touch screen, or on your app? so this was initially configured as a custom button on my UI devices. after my project got larger, i installed a keypad next to my and my wife's sides of the bed (one each, identical). it has a button "in bed" that activates the custom button, which activates this. also when that happens, we have "sleep" buttons underneath the "in bed" button, the LED for the "sleep" button lights up purple-pinkish, so when you're falling asleep and want to turn off the rest of the stuff, you can press it on either side and the LED goes out, and we go to sleep. if we forget, it all resets at 6am.
