JAJUTI
Hi, is there a way to list all programs in Composer HE? Currently, if you have a large project with 8 rooms and 100 devices that means thousands of potential "whens" and tons of small programs. Is it possible to list them all, just to identify the bad ones, optimise the system and maybe fund potential problems? Or is the only option to just go through all devices and all states? Thanks! J. Crustyloafer
Not sure if it is available on HE, but Detective Suite will do this for you.
Crustyloafer
Also, in Composer Pro there is a new 'Summary' view tab which will quickly show all programming that involves a particular device. Matt Lowe
Matt Lowe
not sure that detective suit is available in HE but the summary tab has actually helped me out in a few jams its a great new tool!

Neither are available in HE. Would be nice for the reasons stated to be able to see programming. It's a pain trying to remember how I programmed something before or finding old programming from a device that's being removed
Crustyloafer
Just send a copy of your project file to your dealer or a dealer on here, including me, and I can create a Detective Suite report and send it back to you. Tokead

OP's system is definitely not on OS3, just took a look at the project file and there's even an original Door Station in there.
zaphod
What's the rationale for not having this code finding functionality in HE? I can understand not being able to add hardware, but this is more finding and troubleshooting existing code, which may have been written by the end user. Why should you have to pay a dealer to do that?
JAJUTI
Its on 2.10. The thing is, my house was built in 2014 as state of the art "future house" with integrated smarthome functionalities (all devices, from lights, windows, blinds, doors, alarms, cameras to heating and cooling are controled by C4). Total cost was somewhere around 30k. And now, 5 years later a bunch of stuff (touchscreens, doorstation, remotes...) are so outdated that they need to be replaced (which is again rather expensive) or I can opt for cheaper alternatives (like ring cameras and doorbells) which still work quite nicely through alexa-C4 integration... zaphod
That's the thing with HA - every 5-10 years almost everything will become obsolete and have to be replaced. My system has been in place for about 12 years and the main things untouched from day one are light switches and a C4 T-Stat. Stuff like remotes, controllers, etc needs to be replaced every once in a while, but it sounds like you may not be using C4 for AV.

The population of people that actually have HE is very small. however like i said in 3.0 they brought the summary tab which is even better than detective suite and is available in HE. zaphod
Thanks Matt. I haven't got around to going to 3.0 yet as I would need to drop a few K to replace a bunch of controllers.

Keep in mind your control4 system is likely just fine on the Software version it was installed and of course if you want to take advantage of new features it may be necessary to replace equipment. i had several ring doorbells and they all had terrible quality compared to the ds2 mini i have now. but you get what you pay for. zaphod
What controllers do you have? EA series or earlier ones like HC-800, HC-250? If you have HC-250s then they have to be replaced if you go to C4 OS3.
