min app connections

Question

hi.. trying to understand Samsung app switcher and mini app connections.

Samsung app switcher shows min app connections 1 to 15

Samsung app switcher shows min app 15 connection has art mode connected and is working well.

When connecting Netflix min app, the option that comes up is min app 15 that already has the art mode already connected to it.. why?

When connecting youtube or youtube kids, the list that the Samsung app switcher shows is the list of min app connection 1-14.

What is confusing is that the Samsung app switcher under connection names the min app 15 as RF Samsung tv app all others a just called RF min app is this significant?

In spite  of the label are the mini app connection 1 to 14 the same as mini app connection 15.

No.

The 'connection 15' is for a Samsung-specific mini app (Art Mode), which is not a 'universal' mini app.

The other connections are for universal mini apps (mini apps that work for many manufacturer's devices, not just Samsung).  That's why their class name is not Samsung-specific.

Unfortunately, Samsung limits us to starting a specific set of mini-apps through their IP protocol, so ONLY the following Universal Mini-apps work on Samsung TVs:

  • Netflix
  • Amazon Video
  • HULU
  • YouTube
  • VUDU
  • Browser
  • Pandora

Only thing I can think of that would be worse is paying someone $1,000 for C4 equipment and never getting the equipment, then later finding out that the person you sent the money to isn't who they said they were.  Hypothetical example, of course.

i kinda takes some ... to come back here after that, doesn't it?

Now that roku doesn’t have a spectrum app , it will be  great to samsung allow the spectrum mini app , they are the only tv with that app , and as today there’s no way to use that mini app on control4 on any device
