Sound bar options

I'm not sure of the question.  Is the TV relatively modern?  Just about any powered soundbar can be connected to the HDMI ARC out of the TV (or even the optical) and will respond to the IR remote your are using for the TV, with just a setting change on the TV.

Or would I just use optical from sound bar to tv?

This one.  The TV will get its video and audio over HDMI from your receiver.  You'll tell it in settings to turn off the internal speakers.  Your IR remote should then control the volume over optical.

That’s what I figured. But what are the HDMI options if tv is connect via HDMI to receiver and wanted to add sound bar?

Good IP Controlled Active Soundbars include

Sonos

Denon

Bose Soundtouch

Sony

I dont usually just get a dumb soundbar and hope everything will control fine with ARC. But by all means go for it. I do recommend a soundbar with proper drivers and integration

Thank you. So I was looking at a Sony. It has a driver. What would I connect if the master is on zone 2 monitor out of receiver. How would the connections go?
