therockhr
Do any of you all use the relays on the IO extender for low voltage outdoor path lighting or is it better just to get a transformer and hook it into a Control4 controlled outlet/plug? Cyknight
IO Extender relay is max 24vDC 2 amp (36AC 2 amp)- as long as you're under that it's fine. I do use them for some trim led lighting, but path lighting is likely to go over therockhr

I have my transformer on a C4 switched AC circuit and it works great. To me, that seems like a much easier solution given the many options available (e.g., C4 outdoor plug-in switch). zaphod
I also use C4 switches or dimmers for my low voltage landscape lighting. It is on several different zones/switches but that doesn't really add much since I generally have all zones come on and off at once.
Jakelay
I went with an outdoor Kasa double outlet (transformer is in the garage) and Alan’s free Kasa driver. Works great. Can operate and program through C4 or through the Kasa app itself. Just a cheaper but reliable alternative. zaphod

I assume you mean the C4-V-OOSW120-BL - https://www.control4.com/docs/product/outdoor-plug-in-outlet-switch/data-sheet/english/latest/outdoor-plug-in-outlet-switch-data-sheet-rev-a.pdf What's the MSRP on them? Agree -- love this thing and use it (or its parts) in a lot of my 'push the envelope' projects
ekohn00
I use the Wemo switches with Alan's Driver in the transformer. Works perfectly. Went this route as all the C4 enabled switches in the house are WEMO's (via Alan's Driver).
