jsimon77
Hoping to get some programing help on the right way to do this. Here is what I'm trying to solve. 1) I'm in room "Family Room" watching DirectTV. The remote and all it's buttons are controlling the DirectTV 2) While watching DirecTV I would like to be able to adjust settings on the TV such as picture mode, etc. 3) I made a custom button for "TV Settings" which opens the TV's settings menus but all the buttons on the remote that I need such are directional buttons, select button, are still controlling DirectTV. I'm trying to find a way that when I'm viewing the TV's settings that the remote buttons change over to the TV buttons. Thanks for the help. msgreenf
You should have a watch option for the TV. You just have to go watch TV and that will give you control of the TV menus

So if I'm watching a movie on DirecTV and I want to see what the different viewing modes will look like I can't do that. Somehow trying to tell the remote to control the TV with out changing the input from DirectTV....if that makes sense.

Cyknight
It shouldn't do that - do you know what driver you are using? Or if there's any settings in the driver that may be causing this (ie a 'default to lg tv channels' option that may be set)
lippavisual
Does the LG have discrete toggle code for Picture View mode? Pretty sure it does.
jsimon77
I think you might be right. I think he has linked the watch TV button to trigger the TV Apps.
lippavisual
Should be able to setup a colored button or custom to toggle view mode.

This is a great comment and another question that I have. When I'm programing it in Home Edition I see where I an choose the view mode. It's not a toggle but rather a list of the modes...However, for some reason ALL the view modes (about 7 or 8 ) that show up on my TV are not listed with in the driver. I only see 4 or 5 of them. c4toys
So I would like to adjust tv settings while watching a different source. here is what I did made a variable to track room current source ( If rooms source is not the rooms Tv, set variable =rooms current source) custom button to toggle to tv as room source else to toggle back to previous source (if the current source is rooms Tv> set current room source t= variable rooms current source) one button ( so Im not taking up 2 or more buttons on Neeo or Halo) switch to tv, do what you want in the settings and same button to toggle back to previous source
