smarch
Good afternoonSo I have a new projector, the Epson 8700UB love it so far. Problem is to shut off it requires the on/off button to be pressed twice. There is a off macro programmed in the driver I am using (Epson 8350 was the closest) but it isn't working reliably. Maybe half the time it'll actually shut it off. I have tried adjusting the time for the button presses, but it's not working.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Rob0729
I just had the same projector installed. My dealer made Control 4 aware of the situation and working on a bug fix. They recognize it is problem because Epson revised their turn off process and they are coming with a solution. My dealer actually made the red button a turn off switch through a macro and when I power the room off, I just press that button and it goes off. Usually have to hold it down for three or four seconds though.
crazybuppie
If the delay between OFF commands seems inconsistent (as for as when the pj is "listening" for the 2nd command) try adding an additional delay of a second or 2, and adding a 3rd OFF command to the macro. I know its not pretty, but its effective. I setup an epson and the window for the 2nd OFF command seemed to change frequently, so i had the same issues. Why would your dealer make a different button instead of just fixing it?

Why would your dealer make a different button instead of just fixing it?According to both my dealer and Control 4 (I spoke to them directly), Epson changed their controls on the new line of products and they do not have a proper way of turning off the projector consistently with the single button. Control 4 is working on a fix for it, but they claim it isn't available yet. If you have a fix, you might want to contact Control 4 and let them know. smarch
Thanks for all the info. For anyone interested, what seems to work is the following: I added a 3r power toggle in the off macro. So now it's power toggle, wait 1 second, power toggle, wait 1 second and power toggle once more.It now seem to work reliably, after testing it about a dozen times.Cheers
jwhitaker@revit
Exactly what i was thinking, edit the macro.
CFUG
Pany and some others have the same pwr strategy- this is not a surprise. I think my dealer spent a sum-total of, eh, two minutes dealing with it?
avittech
There is a discrete ir code for off on this projector that can be added by editing the driver. There is also discrete serial control.
smarch
Any chance of posting the discrete ir "off" code here? Thanks

The projector when it loses the signal from the receiver/source device it doesn't seem to respond to power command for a brief period of time. I have ran into this issue a few times and adding this delay before the command solved this problem for me everytime.

AK1
This works on my Epson 8350. You don't happen to have the discrete ON command by any chance??That would help me complete my driver...0000 006d 0000 0022 0157 00ac 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0689
