  1. Running Josh. I purchased from Josh that way it loads in Kiosk mode with the app already loaded after loading credentials. A few folks on a FB forum noted they had issues trying to run Josh app when buying directly thru Ava. As a disclaimer I have switched most items over from C4 to Josh for primary user interface (i.e. prior Josh AVA Touch, iOS app on phone and iPad, and pre-order of Touchscreens). Still keeping C4 for some interfaces I can access, scene-set, and control via josh (i.e. Infratech Heaters) I am not sure of if there are any issues running native apps (I.e. Spotify, Sonos, Apple Music, etc.) directly just using Ava
  2. Picked up 1 so far and it's decent. It is not without some items that need to be addressed but they are aware of namely the fast scrub FF/RW on Apple TV (works fine on Roku). I like the Scene's function a lot as I create and change those a lot in different zones and the visual (GUI) for it is nice. Also like that all controllable devices other than cameras/alarm were functioning and working from the date of receipt versus what had to wait for say shades to work on the Halo. Have put 1 Halo Touch on sale and ordered 2 more of these Cinema Remotes for guest rooms. Will likely sell all Halo's since putting in Ketra lighting to replace C4 lighting in some specific zones and like how the lighting interface works on the their remotes specifically with the color temp, hue and saturation
  3. Not a dealer but have had a good experience with the Luma X10 Series Cameras and newer NVR. The newer X20 series has the smart detection which from other posts seem to work quite well. Luma also offers a Luma Bridge if you acquire older X10 cameras to integrate to achieve all of the features that their current X20 series provides. I did have Hikvision installed in a retail store owned but wasn't integrated with C4. The cameras were great, however i went thru 2 different NVR's that failed over a period of 40 months. Others may have had better experience I'm sure and can speak to the C4 integration part. IMO Luma has been great as platform to use for both user functions and capture of recordings from their own app when needed.
  4. So far the biggest issue is every Halo I have has an extended time of 'Waking from Sleep' message that was not there prior to firmware update. Some are taking up to 30 seconds to reconnect/come online while others are a few seconds even when sitting within 5 feet or less of each other docked. Have not seen an improvement in battery life so far and also having issues with losing connection requiring a restart on 2 of the remotes; the latter is happening every 3-4 days on average.
  5. Have had fewer wifi drops on the few remaining I have. So far no noticeable improvement in battery life for the most frequently used after firmware update; it is lasting at best one day before needing to be docked. Also, all of the remotes have a 'waking' message dialog that shows up for 4-5 seconds when using for first time after a longer period of time with no use. That has to be new as wasn't getting that message before.
  6. Got the blue dot - took a restart since the scroll wasn't working to get to the messages.
  7. I wanna say I heard it is in the $400 price range but a dealer could correct that that is on this forum. There were also deal packs where price breaks available by ordering multiple that might get passed on to the customer depending on the dealer.
  8. At the suggest price point I may give it a shot - curious to see how the interchangeable/swappable hard buttons will function. Only saw that before on a Crestron remote I saw a few years ago at a friends residence.

  10. dealer friend (not one of record) sent this to me when inquired. I'll wait over a few days to see if the OTA between the 2 a.m. - 6 a.m. stated actually happens

  12. Has anyone received the 1.7 Firmware Update for the HALO Remotes? I haven't and also restarted 3 of my remotes to see if that was required to get it updated.   14. The music, could be wrong, is based upon the deep linking with Sonos and Autonomic options. A dealer would have a better / more accurate answer on that potentially

  16. I'm assuming that it can. No purchases made at this point. Project is 6 months out so looking at either side and hopefully that visit will allow me to see firsthand side by side
  17. essentially that's correct = josh front end and c4 supporting system similar to other systems currently in my project (i.e. Lutron, etc.). Visiting Josh HQ with dealer in April in Denver to just get a tour/look see around and hopefully have them show firsthand the differences between the options mentioned previously.

  20. didn't realize that reasons had to be justified on a knowledge and sharing forum. suffice to say no purchase made yet and evaluating options.

I am not sure what the profit margin would be on that as that's not my primary or secondary concern since I've worked with them for 5 years and have showed me their cost and price information on other projects. For my particular need just need to install one piece (5e) and that's fine with me based upon some other factors including remaining rack space in my project. I'm the one that asked them about the ability to use Autonomic as well as Sonos and after seeing what the product engineer detailed in a webinar i watched and seeing some of the functionality I'm looking for along with a brief stop-by their booth at CEDIA to get familiar with the product (invited on trip by dealer).
  22. Hi @Time2Jet - I was considering the Sonos option but going to go with Autonomic after talking with my dealer as well as Michael De Nigris (product engineer) from Autonomic. That option is a best fit for my specific use case in both current and future state. That won't happen until August based upon time and budget with other ongoing projects. In the interim the engineers at Josh have received my C4 project and looking at the options to do what I need it to do for the short term. I hear you about the Control4 and want to respect the forum accordingly. We have decided to just transition their place in the home with one being the front end interface for ourselves and for the frequent guests that come to visit. In the future, if/when we upgrade to a new home, we will be doing an intentional project build with Josh at the forefront for the primary user interface and then leverage Control4, Lutron, etc or potentially another control system to support the necessary integration needs where suited.

    surprising on the former as that's not been my experience. Assume you bought thru a dealer they may be able to connect. on the FB community I was able to gain access to both the standard community and the dealers and got answers from dealers, company reps and third party hardware company reps. I applied to be part of the community and took about 60 minutes later was added. Agree on forums and wanted provide alternate paths here just in case. BOL

    Josh and Roku?

    not sure on that one - if not already done so can e-mail their support as I get responses within minutes even as a customer (support@josh.ai). Alternatively, recommend joining the Josh.ai Pro community on FB to pose said question as they monitor that very closely and provide guidance and support. Wish could be more help.
