  1. Going here - first time attendee. Must see's for me: Kaleidescape new Terra SSD's Crestron Home 4.0 SnapOne indoor & outdoor experience centers. Includes new OS update to Control4 Grimani Systems/Storm/MadVR theater demo Josh.ai Lighting solutions (Colorbeam, Ketra, DMF) Savant AVPro/Audio Control since mergered/acquistion
  2. agree on the AVPro. Did Axion 8x8 for whole home on the Video side and the MXNet 10G for the theater for optimal performance and the multiview functions. Plus the biggest selling factor was the customer service and the 10 year warranty. Had a Leaf unit for video that died after 4 years and a Triad for audio distribution that lasted just past 5 before replacing with another one. In future may go with AVPro's newer 24x24 matrix as we're looking to expand to some zones with some upcoming remodeling. But I'm a bit biased based upon the warranty, customer service and that I own a few Audio Control receivers and amps they were just acquired by AVPro.
  3. That may be correct, although neither are a use case for me. I don't know about Chime, only about the 2N unit since it is agnostic to control system for that unit. For the intercom call I don't really use it for the doorbell to respond. For packages they just get left there and for any service we have they input their door codes and it unlocks the house and disables the alarm if armed. But yeah if need to use the intercom function to converse with them that would be something I think it does not do. And inside the home it's treated like a PA system as opposed to 2-way. We've had the Intercom Anywhere for 2+ years and almost never use it.
  4. as far as weather it gives me a prompt before asking on the iOS app when I open it showed in the one screenshot. And then the second screen shot shows what it says when I asked what the weather is like.
  5. I didn't have to do any setup. Once the DS2 was connected to my network, Josh recognized it and showed it as Online in my Josh.ai Portal. From there that was it on that side. Then in the Josh iOS app there is a Push notifications option and turned it on to give me notifications upon Doorbell pressed. It has options for sound detected and motion but those are ones I chose not to enable
  6. I do intercom commands using Josh all the time. it can send commands you audibly state throughout all speakers in the house on demand. I also have the 2N (control4 branded) door station have notifications pop-up on phone and answer and unlock thru Josh. Have same on C4 as well. For weather I get weather updates when I ask thru the phone, micro, nano's etc every day.
  7. I have to respectfully disagree. The voice is used in our home to run scenes 25-30 times per day. Before we seldomly used the equivalent on the touchscreens. And we didn't tie them into keypads because that created a lack of change/flexibility without using Composer HE or our dealer. It is used here for scenes, shades, locking doors, playing specific playlists, fans, pool controls, Kaleidescape movies and the like. For dinner, it comes in clutch to prep the space while in the middle of cooking and making adjustments. May be the outlier but it is used (Josh in conjunction with C4) nearly 200-300 times per month in doing one-time tasks, scenes, and other actions. In addition, as an end user the ability to set, modify, update scenes have a much better experience than the When>Then alternative.
  8. This is quite unfortunate a turn of events but hopefully at least current state does not get worse in terms of integration. The VC of Josh has definitely opened up our use of the system more than other interfaces like the C4 T3/T4 touchscreens have. The ability to do compound commands, program multi-function scenes far easier than When>Then, and the usability by guests and the wife have all been benefits of Josh in conjunction with Control4. Combine that with the ability to learn items like my Lutron shades without even needing the dealer to come out to the house to program and use via Josh is fantastic. Other industries regularly have ongoing litigation and suits (oil & gas, automotive, Google/MS/Apple) and still have ongoing and mutually beneficial strategic partnerships. Josh needs more development and has strengths in voice. Control4 has weaknesses in UI and timing to market of offerings their competitors offer. So recognizing the gaps and the benefits especially for end users like this community are important to maintain and keep progressing.
  9. agree - there seems to be a divergent path being taken in the sophistication and user experience when comparing what C4 is doing compared to the OS's UI of Crestron Home, Savant and Josh.ai to name a few. There is a much more updated, streamlined, pleasing view of status pages at the outset of the app, user commands and the like that are on a lever higher that what I see with these C4 OS updates. I download the demo versions of the Crestron and Savant app just get a feel for them and own the Josh App in addition to C4. Just between the latter two the Josh interface IMO is leaps and bounds above what C4 has to offer at present. Hopefully they will get on a projected path to something that meets their peers but in the decade plus owning it don't see it surpassing or being an UI leader in the industry. I like C4 for the reliability and integration but the interface leaves a lot to be desired. We use Josh for most of our system interactions and only the remotes for TV playback
  10. yeah no real mention of it or its development. I'd just opt for doing the HomeKit/Siri integration since I dropped cable/satellite a while ago and only use Apple TV and Kaleidescape inside the home. That besides the Josh Micros/Nanos and Core installed and use of their iOS app.
  11. I was just hoping for Josh.ai integration to the voice button on the Halo since it's been almost a year since that was put out on market. But hasn't happened yet and in light of the SnapOne lawsuit against Josh & Ava I'm wondering if that'll ever happen
  12. thanks for that guidance. For #2 & I am not seeing those setting options in my iOS app Flo by Moen app. Please advise or screen shot would be great. For #3 not seeing that either in the Flo by Moen app.
  13. by chance does anyone know if there is a way to bypass water shutoff functions or thresholds on the Moen unit? We just installed an ice maker and by design runs most of the day and night as part of its fill and dump process. Right now the unit shuts off the water after a few hours thinking there is a leak when actually its just the ice maker operating as designed. Same goes for when we have larger use of washing machines when family is in town and do laundry all day before packing to leave.
  14. need those shade controls next!
  15. The Intelligent Areas works great. Just updated mine in the portal and can voice control thermostats in common shared zones just as advertised in the video and something definitely welcomed! Tried out the JoshGPT on the Micros and iOS app today and it's definitely expanded functionality. The remote was something they kind of glanced over but at this point I'm committed to the Halo's having bought a a few non-Touch units and eagerly awaiting the Touch ones. Hopefully the Josh voice integration with Halo will come soon.
  16. Control4/Aprilaire thermostats. Coupled with wired remote sensor so all thermostats hidden away in central area. 4 years 0 issues. I had Google Nest and was a pain from integration standpoint and lost connection every 6-9 months. Used those prior to switching to C4.

    Halo Wish List

Basic review article on the Halo Touch from ResTech https://restechtoday.com/the-control4-halo-touch-remote-control-is-a-voice-enabled-time-saver/?mc_cid=5b80f3764f&mc_eid=865e14db33
  18. Just got off phone with them and stated the firmware was updated during their last visit while doing some other C4 updates. The modem is Arris, the router is Araknis detailed prior and all switches are Araknis. They are coming by next week along with a rep from Access Networks to evaluate the system and provide recommendations since the rep will be in town. I have neither Sky nor Sonos
  19. will await what integrator comes back with - i have no idea how to login to get that info. Even still they stated they update it regularly and an update is only borrowed time of something else that seems to be afoot in having this recurring problem
  20. Araknis AN-310-RT-4L2W. I am not 100% sure if firmware is updated but the integrator was here last month doing updates. This has been an 8 month issue with router lockups 1-2 times per month. about 30% of the time I can get it to reset on OvrC Home but the other 70% it is not available to be reset and have to physically unplug the router, wait 5 minutes, plug in, and wait 30-45 minutes for everything to come back online. They had system reboots scheduled in the past (1 - 4 times per week) and that just locked the system up more often. Now no scheduled reboots and still goes down about every 6 weeks with the unplugging and plugging back in of the router the only solution. This is the 3rd Araknis router in 5 years.
  21. what router do you use/recommend? I've had repeated lockup issues with my Araknis router. The experience wasn't much better with Ubiquiti system either
  22. Yep they fixed it Monday morning. Went to bed at 11:45 Sunday night and wasn't fixed but by time got up at 5:30 a.m. it was resolved.
  23. noticed same and posted. all SR260 and NEEOs here updated. Looks like lapse in the code for the remote
