  1. this looks to be the fan you're referring to and has integrations with Control4. Please see link below and attachment showing Josh & Control4 integrations. Not sure where they store the driver https://www.waclighting.com/product/terminator/ F-069U_SPSHT.pdf
  2. I would presume so but will check with my local integrator. They are doing a WAC Lighiting (manufacturer of this fan) project here and integrating with ELAN. Will see what I can find out.
  3. actually no strokes - live with it or do an AND solution like actual integrators and customers are stating what we as paying customers are having to choose as workarounds
  4. def agree - if we are away from home and even sometimes when at home to see status 99/100 times we go to Josh to give us the status page and do quick voice commands to 'turn first floor off' with out needing to program a lighting scene, or close all first and second floor shades and just does it. Having an option to have a home status page for those customers who want it would keep you in that C4 ecosystem 100% of the time instead of doing a this AND that for items in this daily use case. Having to navigate thru a bunch of items when away for statuses is a PIA. This is feedback for improvement since C4 doesn't actually come to consumers who've been with them or spend $XXX about pain points to show them in detail; at the booths and otherwise it has been a defensive posture rather than an engaging position. Heck, SnapOne booth reps flat out told me they are doing some of the jump to the exact notification (i.e. cameras) because enough dealers complained that they can just deploy a Nest/Google to do the same or run back with the cloud DVR (just now finally coming out with Luma soon).
  5. i do agree on that but in our case we went to Josh to do the changes in scenes and the like that I can do in 5 minutes with greater flexibility compared to When>Then. I personally don't use much on the notifications side as didn't really need them other than 2N to Intercom that's already there. But I use HE for the other items in the past and a few KScape intermission scenes (more to learn on that) myself. Obviously assuming that's not the norm for 95%+ plus of the client base but for us notifications on our iOS devices are a nuisance across all apps other than getting an iMessage. again only the voice of 1 and the wife here lol
  6. Yeah I think this topic is a non-starter or having the flexibility to have either a status page or the alternative you're showing; just speaking as a customer for 14 years on this with virtually ever item in the C4 ecosystem at this point
  7. Poignant - went to dinner with my integrator and 3 others from different parts of country joined us on Friday and comments were same about this. They deploy Josh+Control4 and at least 1 of these as alternatives. They were surprised to not see a more contemporary and status home screen; Again I was told by at least 3 reps in the different sub-areas (OS, security, OvrC, etc.) that said we're building a platform to have more frequent updates and a basis for enhanced upgrades. Hoping for the best, but pragmatic.
  8. thanks for posting. I'd just like to see a splash home screen similar to Savant, Josh and Crestron that give you a status of items when you open the mobile app, rather than having to dig to see what devices are in what state. This would be a baseline starting point rather than the focus on the notifications.
  9. From what I saw at the show it's quite minimal New Notifications features Added User Management functions Security deeper integrations (they were showcasing specifically with Luma) I'm sure your dealer will have release notes on the additional details; there were multiple reps (they had over 50 at the show) stating 'this sets the foundation for future and more frequent updates.'
  10. what gear are you using specifically? Yeah for KScape I'm almost ready to get a Terra Prime and would benefit from the 4 minute download speeds purported and evidenced on that user forum by people that already have the units
  11. Thanks - had considered some of the Netgear AV Router 10GB option and their switches but wasn't sure of impacts to what I currently have and with essentially everything currently be tied into OvrC (i'm not a DIY'er). I saw that switching everything to Netgear could be managed with Domotz and integrated into C4 but wasn't sure if that would open up a can of potential problems
  12. Thanks for that insight. I have 4 employees with my business that access the business Synology NAS via quickconnect that work from it daily from their homes or at the client job site. So they hit the NAS daily, multiple times per day. For the photo NAS that is primarily myself and the wife locally and then one family member that lives out of state to access and download files to their local system. Beyond that it's just the A/V items that are the internal traffic and streaming via YouTube TV on multiple Apple TVs. The Kaleidescape is averaging about 750Mbps download speeds. Wifi for regular connections on 5GHz avg 275-300 Got Roon about 2 years ago and also loving the Roon ARC as well!
  13. Thanks for that feedback. At present running 3 servers 1 - Nucleus Core for Roon 1 - Synology NAS 40TB for photos 1 - Synology NAS 32TB for work/business items between 3 PCs. Also used for Time Machine backups
  14. Has anyone had any experience yet with the Araknis muti-gig routers? I have a 1Gbps service at present and have had occasional (not super-frequent) system lockups with my 310 series router over the past 12-15 months. I'm looking at having a system analysis/design review potentially to improve the network and make preparations for upgrading to multi-gig service now that it is finally available in my area along with upgrading to WIFI 6 o 6e. I currently have multiple (11) Araknis switches, 3 Araknis Wifi 5 access points, the 310 router and Motorola 8600 modem. Looking for opinions, experience in best practice on this. The work would be done by an integrator but want other opinions before I go down the route of either keeping the current switches and adding the needed items, switching to something like Netgear with Domotz integration to C4, Using Ruckus AP's, etc. Thanks in advance! )
  15. saw this in the demo room today at CEDIA and co-sign - was very nice integration and fully native now. There is definitely a market for customers on this one and showed based upon people actually purchasing and taking home units today on the the show floor.
  16. Very nice guy - have connected on some gear purchases and doing a training session on Composer HE next weekend. Trying to encourage him to come to CEDIA as he's a good voice for the consumer like myself.
  17. Just finished up the show at CEDIA and must say OS 3.4 is a whole lotta nothing in comparative terms. Beyond some enhancements of security camera integration, very very basic user management function and notifications it was a dud IMO. The release date from 3 reps was promoted as coming on September 13th. I asked each rep in different sessions about enhanced ability to do scene programming within the OS (i.e. not When>Then, or Composer HE) and was given what seemed to be the marketing of answer of their updates are building a platform for this. Additional user management and permission details were not present other than an Admin and Standard functions. They did state that future updates will be pushed out on a much more regular basis instead of large industry events like this one. I asked about Halo development to put basic function into it (locks, shades, etc.) in addition to voice activation for Josh.ai - got the 'our developers are actively working on it.' A bit frustrating seeing that the remotes were first promoted as coming at last year's show and to go a fully calendar year with this progress is disappointing. Hopefully some things will come sooner than later. On non-related note: impressive things saw: Black Nova for keypads/thermostats/dimmers that integrate with Control4 Ketra Lighting Josh.ai demo Grimani/Seymour Screens/MadVR/Barco demo Sony demo theater with 7000 series projector Netgear's AV focused networking Porcella Theater speakers I'm sure there will be plenty of post by YouTuber's but just sharing. First time attended and hopefully not last.
  18. Last year they did a video release/announcement either the day before or first day of CEDIA Expo with all their new updates, announcements, etc. Have seen nothing of the sort this go-around as far as teasing announcements in video format.
  19. Going to stop by their booth on Friday to see what's new and what's not
  20. Slowly pushing out the press releases https://www.cepro.com/events/control4-os-3-4-arrives-with-massively-updated-user-experience-cedia-expo-2023/
  21. For me individually the size and feel of the remote was the primary difference and better experience. In addition we don't use any of the number, info, etc items on the non-Touch so it became an extra amount of 'real estate' on the remote that wasn't needed. We had DirecTV still while using the non-Touch at the same as doing a trial on YouTube TV to see if we liked it in preparation for NFL sunday ticket. When using the DirecTV we used the number functions quite a bit since we knew the channel numbers of preference to go to. However, when we were using YouTube TV, the other streaming apps on Apple TV & Roku, and Kaleidescape we never used the additional buttons on the non-Halo Touch. Then when we purchased 1 Halo Touch I set it up and gave that one along with the non-Touch to the wife. By this point we had removed DirecTV and now just distributing Apple TV throughout the home. After the few days of her use, she much preferred the Touch version. The primary reasons for her was the size, touch functions for the lights and thermostat, and comparability to the NEEO and iOS app she used (she never liked the SR260). The other reason was we have family visit a lot and they were familiar with the NEEO's in the guest bedrooms so this was a more natural progression for them we felt. So far no regrets
  22. I haven't but will keep a look out. Watched a movie this morning in theater with remote next to me and didn't notice the pick-up/light sensor during the action scenes
  23. this is encouraging - call me an optimist https://joshdotai.medium.com/the-commitment-to-josh-ai-control4-integration-7732d093f572
  24. So far so good with the Halo touch remotes. I bought 3 non-touch originally to try them for 4 months. Those were a better user experience to the SR260's and concurred by the wife which is a large factor. We received 1 touch remote 2 weeks ago and within a matter of days it was the go-to choice when they were sitting next to each other as an option. Our use case is Apple TV and Kaleidescape so it's not taken thru a ton of paces or customizations; we use Josh for other control commands and at present some of those items like shades are not available as we know on the remote. Battery life is treated like a phone. Charger is within a few feet of seating / bed areas (5 additional units at present) and battery life is a non-factor as a result. Responsiveness has been good and no drops or reliability issues in the few weeks of owning so purchased more thru the dealer. The non-touch was no issues either. As far as voice, it's non-committal yet since Josh is used in those zones. For a few zones where don't have it installed, we are holding out between integrating Siri or if Josh/Control4 start acting in the best interest of the customer base and get the integration for the remotes done. Sold the 3 non-Touch so we are 'pot-committed' for the Touch units for the foreseeable future.
  25. I had just purchased a 22TB Compact Unit 8 weeks ago as I was finishing my home theater . Not going to worry about trading in. This one is at 70% capacity, so will look at the Prime non-SSD options this fall once I'm full-up
