  1. i ended up swapping out my unit with a newer V2 version, but once i ordered the new one, the problem stopped before it arrived. go figure.
  2. looking to buy one, new or used. don't want to spend a fortune, but will expect to pay what is fair let me know if you have one!
  3. having briefly looked into the Fusion, it is based on the old logitech media code, which is no longer supported. I would prefer a device that is backed by a company that has been around for a long time and has invested in their own platform rather than rebranding an abandoned one. I used LMS in my own custom build years ago, and found it to work well, but it had it's share of bugs and oddities and is probably why it never made it to the mainstream
  4. IP control for sure would be the better option having said that, there may be a configuration issue with the RS232 connection though. assuming the RS232 is wired correctly which i assume it is because it does sort of work then it could also be the transmit speed between C4 do other functions of the AVR also take as long?
  5. lutron is the best, and i will add that you get what you pay for. yes there are cheaper solutions, but will they be as durable and reliable? probably not. and how much money are you really saving in the long run?
  6. this category also seemed to apply so i crossposted: for the past week or 2, all of my streaming audio services, in all of my zones experience random drop outs. pandora, i♥radio, etc. the exception is, if i play spotify from my desktop and stream it to any of the zones, it plays fine. this would lead me to believe that it is not a network related issue as any network dropouts would present in the stream between my desktop and the controller. i have the EA5 connected via ethernet, and my internet is gigabit fiber with no other issues or dropouts noted on any other device or service. just streaming that originates from the EA5 i have run a continuous ping to the internet from my desktop to the internet, and also from the desktop to the EA5 to see if there are any lost packets. there aren't looking at the IFconfig of the EA5 it shows 0 errors and no lost packets, so i am pretty sure it isn't a network issue. also the song doesn't continue playing. when the drop out is over it continues from the last spot. almost like it was paused or buffering. again though, it seems unlikely considering the high availability of my network AND internet environment. any ideas? anyone else having this issue?

  8. that strikes me as the type of product that should be selling for $99-$149 on amazon, not "under $1000" for $1000 i would want a more robust and professional product like the heos
  9. i will keep that in mind...still eyeballing the superlink
  10. yeah, i considered that as well, even an HDMI audio extractor, but that still doesn't solve the pandora issues, and even spotify can be cumbersome at times (not sure if that is the case everywhere else too). i was looking at the heos superlink and everyone here always raves about how great heos integration is , but i am wondering if in the grand scheme of things if it will enhance my experience enough to justify the cost
  11. not specifically, but i do find some issues with the pandora driver in control4 that they seem to have abandoned, and only 2 RCA out on the EA5 is limiting for me as well.
  12. for those of you who have integrated a third party solution such as heos or sonos, what was the main reason (aside from adding zones using that platform) that you went with that vs the integrated solutions of the EA platform I have all my zones wired, amplified and working so i don't need zone amps or anything like that. I have the EA5 serving all of my audio, but i am wondering if there is more out there that i should be considering. the heos / sonos route seems redundant, but people are integrating them into C4 so i am wondering what it gives you that the native C4 solution doesn't
  13. ok, i have the new driver installed and connected via SDDP works pretty well, however even after deleting my mini-apps and downloading the updated ones, i cannot seem to get them working. i have them connected but the audio path still says NO for all of the mini apps. i have checked and rechecked but can't seem to figure out what step i have missed. anyone else with this problem? or a solution?
  14. i have this issue as well, about 200 stations. it is a shame how little effort C4 puts into their pandora driver. there are so many limitations (including a skip limit imposed by the driver and not pandora) even for premium accounts. I really like using pandora and hate that there are so many little bugs/issues like this. I hope one day they start maintaining a better driver
  15. i have 2 minor issues that i have not been able to figure out. 1) my line audio 1 from my EA5 will sometimes go down to 0 volume. I have found no programming that would do this and there does not seem to be any link to any type of usage of the system that would cause this. it appears totally random 2) i have both digital outputs on the ea5 connected to an external amplifier. for reasons i cannot explain the EA5 always chooses digital out 2 as the default when playing music through that amp. i would assume that digital out 1 would be the default. as far as i can see it never uses digital 1 any ideas?
  16. seems like my caseta pro isn't fully compatible with the leap driver. it did not add any of my pico remotes and there is no "add keypads" button in the driver page to add them. i tried adding one manually but that didn't work either
  17. checking the leap driver out now, looks pretty good, thanks!
  18. Lutron recently increased their device limit to 75, does anyone know when the driver for control4 will be updated to reflect this change? composer is only showing 50 possible devices that i can link
  19. seems odd that they even have that option then in composer. i don't see why such a basic command like power on/off or power state change would not work for literally every possible device in composer. seems odd
  20. never mind, i added the programming to the projector on/off events and it works fine! now to email audiocontrol and see if they will fix their driver
  21. is there some other event that i might be able to trigger it from?

i have been using the VSSL amps with this functionality built in , but it would be a lot better if control4 would implement it on their amps or matrix switches as there are a few minor glitches with VSSL/C4 functionality. I agree that this is a major oversight on C4s part
  23. my intended use is to get rid of a speaker relay box that i have been using to switch between using a set of speakers as surrounds or as whole house audio speakers. the relay box works fine and is triggered via 12v out from the receiver. I am moving some things around and wanted to clean up some of that wiring and figured having my matrix amp (audiocontrol M4840) switch inputs, it would be much cleaner and also offer some other options for control so that i can have more options about when to switch the speakers and when not to. what drives me crazy is that control4 clearly sees the state change in the receiver powering on and off but it just doesn't seem to trigger the events. i am not sure that this is a failing of the driver or not.
  24. I am trying to have my audio amp switch inputs whenever my AVR receiver turns on and off. should be simple. in programming i program the "power on" to trigger input to A and power off to trigger input to B doesn't work if i manually execute the program it works fine. if i power on the AVR composer sees the power is on, and when i switch off, it sees off. for some reason though it just isn't firing the events that i programmed. so i went into device variables and found the power state change variable and put them in there with if statements saying if power is on do this, if it is off do that. again, executing this manually works fine but powering the AVR on and off does nothing. am i missing something?
