The TP link and Wemo units work well and the price isn't much different, you will need to pay for a third party driver though.

    No, you cannot
Can't comment on the device specifically (not even sure it's supported - C4's list of compatible devices is limited) but Control4's Zwave setup in general is rock solid
Must stress that you should NEVER do this as a life-saving device, nor can it be seen as a replacement for a true monitored security system.
Hover, yes there would be ways.
Asll you would really do is add a variable that you set to true or false with a generic experience button to change it.
From there, whatever programming you want ot execute when away just uses that variable :

    WHEN contact opens
    IF variable 'armed' is true
    ---do your thing

Waring192 reacted to Cyknight in Control4 lighting in basic terminology please...!
As you're in 240v world, I can't comment on part numbers, or specific details, but yes, you do 'simply' connect a control4 dimmer or switch to the wiring, and they then wirelessly (over ZigBee) talk to a controller, no extra devices required.

Do note however that a dealer is required to setup the main controller, connect lighting and program the overall system.

Yes, you can just swap them with your regular switches. 3+ way switches end up using a single switch/dimmer and a keypad in the other locations. They all communicate wireless via Zigbee.

There were some issues using coax and stereo on 800 in the past, but I think those were resolved - it's never been an issue for me with the EA series though.

Depends, without the B1 you wont have app access until the HC800 is replaced.

Should read the whole post first shouldn't I? 😉 Just the above, no app control.

The HC800 audio outputs are locked to 'cd quality' and are not high-rez, so any zone using those outputs will technically have lesser audio quality potential, yes.
Whether that's something you notice depends on a lot of factors though, including the rest of your system, your own ability to hear the difference (let a alone care) and the audio sources you are using to begin with.

In principal, you can get the system running on an HC800 and do a fairly painless move to the EA5 - absolutely, though if it's a huge project it may run a little less smooth.

Waring192 reacted to andyc4newcomer in Thinking about selling all my C4 kit
Although I had loads of kit, I only actually had lighting and sound in multi room and outdoor setup. So all replaced with ZigBee puks in replacement to the C4 wireless ones, all plumbed into my Philips hue. Then got Sonos amps for muktiroom. Still had money left over after selling, and all works perfectly.
If the C4 hadn't failed 1week into living in I'd have kept it but it didn't inspire me with faith unfortunately, altho I here it's typically very reliable.
