  1. Keep in mind, if you're international, Josh doesn't work in a lot of countries (such as here in Australia)
  2. Honestly, I've had the same issue once too..
  3. You have to drag and drop them onto the ? icon.. The cursor will change to a Right arrow instead of down.. And drop
  4. At this point of time, you should be wiring Fibre probably though if pre-wiring.. Not sure how AP's will deal with Wifi 7, but Wifi 7 will be up to 30gb. Manufacturers might choose to use LAG for the bandwidth, or they may focus on fibre (and copper for POE required to drive the units). Whilst 1-5gbps wifi isn't too useful, with 30gbps, if it works well with low latency, it might open things up to applications like high quality wireless HDMI potentially.
  5. There is no deletedevice API (probably to stop drivers accidentally deleting your controller out of the project or other drivers/agents). It's not a bad thing... Also, not sure why you'd need to restart the driver?
  6. So.. Just an update on this.. It's turns out, it's not Chowmain Shelly driver (phew).. Chowmain Relay To Light driver, and that wasn't at fault either
  7. G'day, I'd need remote access to the system to be able to check.. Technically, the Shelly driver doesn't actually include group support (so not sure how groups have been implemented)
  8. By the way, I don't think I've come across anyone else with this issue. Are you sure there isn't something in the programming causing issues?
  9. Ok. I actually wrote that driver. If you send me a pm with your email, I'll send the updated beta when I return from gym, and a procedure we can use to log in remotely too
  10. G'day.i actually wrote that driver. Just wondering what you mean by groups? I have a beta available too that I'll likely be pushing live early next week are possibly this week. I'll send you a private message so I can log in. But sorry, just to confirm, is it just the c4 status that is incorrect?
  11. It only affects stuff like ssdp between vlans in certain cases. It's not an actual issue for barely anyone
  12. In regards to PIM? Or? Most homes (especially with SONOS) should have RSTP on their switches. Ideally Rogue DHCP protection too. In some cases (like MOIP), Layer 3 switches are generally recommended too (only because they generally have a better backbone). Finally, also, full network visibility and logging is good too for troubleshooting. Keep in mind, Wifi 7 is actually 30gbps.. So, in practice, it might be nice to have some 10gbps ports actually (even home users may want to consider it, maybe with POE++ ports if they can afford it if they have the money).
  13. Absolutely.. Even if you are using VLAN's (which most people don't, and when they do, in a very limited capacity), the lack of PIM isn't an issue for almost all hardware (you can simply use static IP's instead of SSDP in 99% of cases, and in 99% of the remaining cases, you need it only to support auto-discovery if the device is on a different VLAN). For instance, TPLink it will affect Auto-discovery.. But you can just set static IP's anyway. Some devices do rely on broadcasting however (and those are a different story). In a large commercial job though, you probably need VLAN's, so definitely get something with PIM
  14. This was settled mostly a year ago.. 90% of the arguing (including the top hit on google), was by 1 person, and their argument included a claim that DS2's didn't work properly on them It all stemmed because 1 or 2 people in particular read the DO NOT USE Networking list, but didn't have the technical backing needed to understand what PIM was. Basically, the original list said: “Router/Switch/AP Does not support PIM multicasting. Only supports IGMP which causes issues such as Control4 devices that fall offline due to UDP keep-alive being blocked through multicast routing. These issues manifest most commonly in large systems with dual transport devices ie. Matrix switches Tuners, Amplifiers, and Centralized Lighting.” 1 person in particular interpreted that as "all multicasting", and then extended that to include DS2's breaking on large systems (probably based on the fact 2N needs multicasting for large intercom systems) Problem was, they were wrong. PIM Multicasting is unsupported on Unifi, but only affects multicasting over VLAN's (which very few people need, but would break SSDP between VLAN's, and such). Multicasting within a LAN works perfectly. Before removing the list, they had clarified it to specifically say SSDP between VLAN's was broken. That being said, because unifi themselves don't offer real technical support for their products, Control4 won't either. TLDR; Unifi works fine, but don't expect assistance by C4 tech team (and thats fine)
  15. @dipskhatri I just had a thought.. Is your computer running an ARM CPU instead of Intel (many Surface products are actually ARM)
  16. Check Composer logs.. It might say why.. Also, try running from command prompt, which might show an error or something
  17. By the way, I should add, even if the bandwidth is ok, there can still be interference on the cables which causes issues, but you could probably test for this. Also, blustream also makes a moip product too worth considering (including a product which includes Dante, which I've never used in c4): https://www.blustream.com.au/learn-about-video-over-ip
  18. https://www.snapav.com/shop/en/snapav/binary-900-series-4k-ultra-hd-media-over-ip-receiver-b-900-moip-4k-rx-a Check specs. Max is 850mbps only, but average is 150mb-300mbps
  19. Cat5e supports even 10gb to to 45m apparently. 2.5gbps will work over 100m of carte easily too apparently I checked the 900 receiver and the max bandwidth it uses is only 850mbps and uses standard Ethernet, so you shouldn't have a problem. Even if you're using 4k as you're bound by the max bandwidth of the receiver
  20. G'day, I don't actually remember anyone reporting this issue.. After setting the setting to false as Alan mentioned, the lights can be hidden in other rooms. However, if your installer sends me a message , I can send them a copy of a beta they can deploy (which should fix this issue) As Alan has mentioned, the TPLink driver has been totally rewritten, and is now available to C4 beta testers . As a side effect it no longer has this problem.
  21. Funny story.. I just noticed there is an equivalent Reddit post and Snap employees have already seemingly engaged OP.. So yes.. Absolutely. The reasons why are fairly obvious...
  22. I think he means if you're using the insider builds (which are effectively Beta updates)
  23. Also, iPads run more apps, but if Apple releases an update which adds further restrictions or changes which breaks Control4 features, things are going to be bad fast. Its good risk management to stick to the T4's imho.
  24. By the way.. It could be worth asking the dealer how much the EA5 or HC800 is worth as part of the quote.. If they say the EA5 is worth throwing in the bin, you can be almost instantly sure they're going to sell it themselves (imho, definitely get a second quote though, as this seems suss to me) To be honest, if Control4 hears that they're replacing a perfectly good EA5/HC800 with Savant, I suspect they may have some explaining to do (both are good systems. But irrespective of the justification of doing so, I seriously doubt its in your best interest, especially as EA5 is still a current model, and its the second best controller you can buy). And HC800 still runs OS3 fine.
