I would recommend using a standalone 2.4g network for these remotes separate from the Clients Wifi. That's right 2.4g only. That way the remote does not switch back and forth between the 5g and 2.4g network.
I did this and it has helped a good bit but they still have to be restarted every day or two. I am surprised this is still a problem. Anybody have any ideas of an ETA on the firmware date that should resolve this issue?

Has anybody found a resolution for this? I have 2 Halo remotes and love them but they become disconnected from the network at least once daily. It usually requires a reboot and then there is no battery when it does come back up and connect.

If an Apple-centric client, I know you can use Shortcuts to kick off actions based on connecting/disconnecting to a selected Bluetooth device. It could be anything. So you could buy a cheap bluetooth device for each person you want to track entering the target room, pair it to the phone and then, when you walk into area, it would connect and then you could program off this connection event. For example, you could then toggle a dummy device in HomeKit that was synced to C4 via HomeKit bridge driver and do your further programming on C4 side. Not elegant (to say the least), but depending on how many rooms/people you want to track, you could, in theory, make your magic happen this way. Obviously not viable to track 20 people and 20 rooms. But 2-3 people and 2-3 rooms (not within bluetooth range of each other), then maybe doable?
Do you guys have any specific recommendations for this? I have tried buying a few BT products to see if I could get it to work but all of them turn off after a certain amount of time. Any advice would be appreciated.

double post. Sorry.

How do you access the Custom 1, Custom 2, and Custom 3 commands on the Halo touch? I just got mine yesterday and feel like I must be missing where they are located.

@South Africa C4 user On 8, I like this. How are you able to get an input to send in for the Advanced Announcement? I currently do this via text but your method seems like a much better option.

4 - Geotracking via IFTTT works pretty good once you get it set up. There is a little delay but it gets the job done for the most part. Of course, that is by location (not by room).

I appear to be getting emails again. Thanks C4 staff.

No. It expires in July 2023.

The last email I received was 3:30PM CST yesterday (11/18/2022). I am wondering if this is a central C4 issue or if it is just my setup (I have had some odd behavior lately). Is anybody else experiencing any email issues with C4 over the last 24 hours?

@Jakelay Thanks for the suggestion. I assume I will need my dealer to do this since I only have Composer HE?

Our Shade 1 (Hunter Douglas Powerview) in the Master Bathroom has always had a strange issue that only happens if the director has been restarted or the shade has had the command to go up at some point in the day. In these cases, after you put the shade back down, within 20-30 minutes, it will go back up. This happens all the way until sunset and then doesn't happen anymore until the director is restarted or you send the shade up command.
I have dug around composer for many hours trying to find programming that would be doing these and am unable to find anything (I have created many logs, emails, and other alerts to try to track it down). I suspect this is Hunter Douglas/Powerview sending the signal and not Control4.
The one thing that seems odd and wonder if it is contributing is that the *Current Position* of the master bathroom shades (all 4 of them) is 0 when closed (like all of the others in the house) but 45-55 when opened (all of the others in the house are 100). Even though all of the other master shades are like this, only shade 1 has the issue. I have tried recalibrating the shade based on HD's instructions but that didn't change anything.
Any ideas? I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction because it is driving me crazy not being able to find and correct the issue. Thanks in advance for your time.

@dinom Did you ever figure out a way to fix this? I have intermittent issues where the temperature etc. doesn't update in C4 like it should.
-
That makes sense. We deal with very high humidity so I don't think it is a good option for us. Thanks for the information.

@samefredd I am wondering how you use this. Are you using it to keep you cool while on the patio? Does it work well? It seems like you would be wet or, at least, the wife would not be happy about having a bad hair day.

Is anybody else having constant problems with this? I am currently having to correct the times setting about once per week.

@South Africa C4 userI have switched most of the large emails over to @alanchow's notifications driver method and keep the C4 emails short. It definitely sucks to have to redo the big emails with all of the variables but, luckily, I didn't have that many. Some of my emails I just shortened so I didn't have to redo them. Good luck.

In case anyone has this issue in the future... I was able to fix the time by logging into the DS2 control panel on the network (use the IP Address and login credentials noted on the Front Door Station driver), go to System --> Date & Time --> check the "Use NTP Server" option. Then save and reboot the system. I initially saved it and it would revert to the wrong time in less than an hour. I then saved it and rebooted the device (System --> Maintenance --> Restart Device). Now the time seems to be fixed permanently.

Over the last couple of days, the email that the DS2 sends with a snapshot has an email time of 1 hour ahead of what it should be (I am on CST). I have looked in the driver settings and do not see anything and the information form the project settings time zone/time is correct. Do you guys know how I can update this so that the email has the correct time sent on it?

We are having a similar problem where the Samsung TV IP Control Driver doesn't consistently turn the TV on in the morning (about 80% of the time it doesn't work). When it doesn't turn on, I can't get it to turn on without manually turning it on. Once I manually turn it on, it will then respond to the on/off commands consistently.
My TV is a year or two old and has worked great up until about a month ago. Please post here if anyone finds a resolution. Thanks.

If you want a cheap alternative that you can do yourself, use an outdoor motion detector that connects with IFTTT with @alanchow's IFTTT driver for detection. I use this for motion detection throughout our property to trigger events and it works great for the most part. I had @alanchow's Hikvision driver installed but my dealer was unable to ever get the motion detection to work with Control4. That is when I found the YoLink outdoor motion detection and have been happy with the results.

For my system I was able to find an indirect way to do this but it has worked well. I use the DISPLAY_TEXT variable to monitor the events and then take appropriate actions based on them. I initially had it send me an email for each event so I could start defining the display text with the event. Once I got these, I coded the ones out that I don't user or already have actions associated with them. Not sure if it will work for your setup but has been great for me since I don't have to get my dealer involved.

We are having the same issue with the charging. It is a shame because the remote itself is great.
