  1. I will make a backup of my router settings that can be restored in the event of a failure. I also like the idea of reserving DHCP via the router as it really did simplify things. My question is whether or not this is sufficient for Control4 to avoid future communication issues between Control4 and the device?
  2. If you don’t mind, would you happen to have a white page or sample of the table structure you use. I’m curious to see how you do this.
  3. It seems like the best approach is to create a static IP address from the device itself, and also create a DHCP reservation in the router (for the devuces with static IP addresses)?
  4. Got it. Thanks Think we tried this when attempting to password protect an entire room which as we know, does not work.
  5. So DHCP reservation via unifi (the picture above) will not achieve the desired goal? I have to manually go into each device and set the IP from within? Some devices don't even allow for this (e.g. TP-LINK, Ignite Boxes, Sengled etc). Why would pairing the MAC address to a specific IP in router ("fixed IP") not achieve this goal?
  6. In my iOS app, it now requires me to enter my 4 digit passcode if I am in a room, select lighting and then select "All" to display all lighting throughout the house. Where can this feature be adjusted?
  7. There is no programming for any of my timers related to the garage door light
  8. Unfortunately this is not available in Composer HE. I have a DSC alarm system which is integrated into C4. The door contacts and motions are used to trigger events for lighting. The programming is simple: When the Garage Door Entry Contact Opens: Turn on the Garage --> Garage Lights. Driver for this light is the native Control4 driver for Adaptive Phases Dimmers. If I turn the light on manually via the rocker (and don't open any of the doors) the light still turns off after 10 minutes. The programming must be tied to something else and I just cannot find it...
  9. Thanks. I just wanted to make sure I was enabling the right setting. I understand that fixed IP pairs a devices MAC address with a previous reserved IP address, thus ensuring the device always has the same IP. So should I reserve the IP addresses for all the Control4 hardware as well?
  10. I had some programming that would turn off my garage lights automatically after 10 minutes. I no longer want this and deleted all the programming associated with this action (or so I think). No matter what I do, the garage lights keep turning off after 10 minutes. Anyone have any suggestions how I can find this "phantom" programming with Composer HE?
  11. So you would reserve IP's for things like Amazon Echo's, Lutron Hubs, Control4 controllers, security NVR's, TP-Link devices, Sengled devices, wattboxes, blinds, tv's etc? If I enable "Fixed IP" in my UniFi settings is this sufficient?
  12. Should all devices Control4 communicates with be fixed/reserved via my router (Unifi Dream Machine)? If not, are there any devices in specific that should be?
  13. I just added some more instances of the driver. Configured them exactly the same but I am now getting a: HTTP Error Code: 401 Anyone know what is causing this or how to fix it?
  14. Can anyone tell me what two terminals I need to connect the pair of wires coming out of my garage door remote to on the EA5?
  15. I'm not shelling out cash (physical trip to house is not cheap) for my integrator to visit the house to perform a task that may or may not fix the problem. I am not sure why Control4 does not allow for a system to be registered remotely OR make that option available in Composer HE.
  16. If the wire is already there (an extra CAT6 run somewhere close to the operators) no need to buy extra hardware or door openers with leads. For a retrofit application I think the Security+ 2.0 Wired Dry Contact Adapter is a good option (https://www.garadget.com/product/security-2-0-dry-contact-adapter/). Unfortunately this option does not work with the Liftmaster Elite 8500 series (which I have).
  17. Does anyone have instructions or diagram of what two wires to solder and where to solder them for each button on the 893max remote?
  18. This was the answer. Thank You!!! It is interesting, because I am not assigning an IP address or specific port to each camera. I am not telling the camera what channel to use on the NVR. BUT, the driver seems to recognize and display the different cameras in the app.
  19. Changing the type to "digest" did not work. I need Control4 to get feedback from the camera in order to have other functions working like using the camera as a motion trigger to fire other programming events.
  20. Thanks, I tried this an still getting the same error code. I thought the "preferred channel" would be what pointed the driver to the correct camera. I have also attached a picture of my Camera ports from the HikVision web interface. 1) What is "preferred stream" and does it matter what this is set to? 2) Do I need to make any configurations from within the HikVision web interface itself?
  21. I can do it myself in customer.control4.com. I am just worried if I do, it might not let me register a controller after it is removed. The portal may allow for removal of a system but not the addition (I imagine this is so people can remove a system from their account when they sell their house for example). @jimbones do you know if I can add a EA5 controller into my account via the customer.control4.com portal?
  22. Correct, my security system is already linked to C4. I already have lots of programming based on contact state or motion sensor triggers for various automation around the house. I still need to connect the EA5 to the garage Liftmaster 893MAX door remote to trigger the button presses. The button press on the garage door remote triggers the operator, but the remote is not aware of the doors current state (open or closed), it just forces it to do the opposite of whatever position the door is in. I have a Liftmaster garage door, so there is no driver. Hoping someone can provide a simple wiring sketch for a remote to EA5. I found this post showing connections using a Z210. I want to know if even need this or can I go directly into the EA5 from the Liftmaster 893MAX remote control and if anyone has a wiring diagram?
