slySTANGguy
Hello, I am doing a long hdmi cable run of about 40 ft. Does anyone have any good cable recommendations to maintain signal quality and not pay $150. I am planning on getting the mono price redmere but I hadn't heard much about it. nikon
Regardless what cable you get it is a good idea to run a couple cat6 just in case. I have run into hdmi cables that have issues and it is always good to have a backup just in case you get a bad cable or someone manages to put a nail or screw through it. c44me
40ft is really not all that long for HDMI. I have it running longer. that being said, if you're running it in conjunction with monoprice stuff (eg switches etc.) caveat emptor
slySTANGguy
The hdmi cable is the only thing I am interested In getting from monoprice as long as I am not running into trouble.
nikon
That what the cat6 is for. Just in case the cable doesn't work, you can always use a balun.

cannemi
I have used MonoPrice and they are great. But here is another great alternative. The cable isn't as thick as monoprice cables also and they work greathttp://sewelldirect.com/hdmicable
Djcarpenter1241
In my home, i ran both CAT6 as well as a product called RapidRun. http://www.rapidrun.com/categories.asp In 2 room's i ran their 100 foot cable. i used an active/passive connector on each end. i have had no issues running 1080p on either run. product works well for retro work. ichbinbose
40'-50' HDMI, not really an issue. Persopnally I would use something other than monoprice. There cables really aren't that great and it is a thick PITA too.
LSDave
40'-50' HDMI, not really an issue. Persopnally I would use something other than monoprice. There cables really aren't that great and it is a thick PITA too.I ran a 50`monoprice and had HDMI sparkles, i also had to use an equalizer to get a stable image. The 50`cables that i saw monoprice had also claimed to not support more that 720P.And like you mentioned the thick cable is a PITA. Soo thick, that just the weight of the cable hanging off the end of my receiver made me nervous.
