AdamT
Has anyone found a good way to get the RS232 from a controller to an alarm panel when the panel is not near the controller?I have a customer that has a finished home and basement. The unfinished section is where the alarm is and the controller is across the finished basement. No wire path for me what so ever. Anyone ever see or use a wifi to 232 convertor?A

Cyknight
Or just use the Global Cache unit that does this for which there has been a certified driver for nearly 2 years......http://www.globalcache.com/products/itach/models2/Sells for less than $
neil12011
Or if you can find an older gen controller, like the HTC. They come in handy for situations like these.

LSDave
i've used a global cache GC-100-12 a couple times with DSC alarms. Never had an issue other than manually having to set the baud rate on the GC device. Even tho the driver is supposed to automatically do that. If you have good wifi, the iTach devices that are wireless should work fine. Just make sure the customer knows that its dependent on the wifi signal. RyanE
Only the 'universal' driver sets the baud rate. The older GC-100 driver does not.RyanE
