badjesus
So just as the subject says. I lose a connection to directory, and lose a connection to everything C4 in my house every 20-40 mins. So, this started last night, and only 2 things changed.1 - I added a LOZ-5S1-W --- I think I might have the wrong driver for it? It is rather confusing. There are 2 drivers that seem identical, and both give the option to upgrade to V2. When you upgrade to V2 it just adds a new item into composer using the v2 driver, doesn't remove the old, and doesn't auto identify. I also seem to lose features when I do this. Very odd. 2 - I added the auto update drive for Houselogix.

phileaton
Have you tried removing the drivers to see if it fixes the problem?
msgreenf
I have had bad luck with the houselogix auto update driver Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
phileaton
Not to say the HL driver is the problem and I'm not very familiar with It since we created our own solution; However, If I remember correctly there may be a way to turn of controller reboots in the driver though. This may be something to look into for debugging also.
badjesus
I deleted the auto update driver for now.I also removed the switch. I asked around with some local guys as well and it sounds like EVERYONE is having issues with the auto update driver. I noticed that my honeywell driver is going to need an update and reconnect so I figured might as well let the auto update drive do it.... I guess we will see in 40 mins if that is it. This is damn annoying when you are also the end user, lol. Just trying to have a lazy Saturday at home with the wife and I am running up and down the stairs power cycling everything. Of course, every time the hc800 goes down EVERY OTHER navigator has to be power cycled manually... behind the tv.... not easy to get to. GIANT pain in the arse. badjesus
Take a look at your log files.not sure how. i see it in system manager dumping to the log files but not sure how i can read them. i see in the upper right where you are supposed to be able to open the file but half of the files say "cannot open this file the device is no longer communicating" the other half are just blank. badjesus
so i have figured out that is rhapserver is disabled on my navigators (especially my master bedroom hc250)... the director stays online. when rhapserver is enabled the navigator tries to connect and instantly director goes down. it seems to be any time a new navigator tries to connect.... the director goes down. restarting the rhaoserver just made the navigator try ti connect again. what a gong show. badjesus
So because I thought it was the auto update from HL that crashed everything, I decided to look at the honeywell drivers in composer real quick. I noticed both of my thermostats were now not activated nor did they have ANY information filled out. So I went to delete the one, and composer crashed. Gave an XML exception error. Now, I can't connect to it at all through composer, even after power cycling it. I can see it in system manager, director is running... but I can't connect at all. Edit 1 : I got it back up and going for now, and was able after about 400 resets to delete the two thermostat drivers and it appears to be stable right now. Edit 2 : Scratch that. Went around and power cycled navigators and BAM..... main controller (director) is now down.
badjesus
My detective suite has A TONNE of corrupted programming. Any idea how to clean this up?
badjesus
Yup, I am completely dead in the water. Everything just continually reboots. As long as I don't try and connect a navigator to the system... everything works. The second any navigator tries to connect.... it crashes and just sits there rebooting. I have tried everything I know how. Even SSH'd in to manually reboot all navigators one at a time.
phileaton
I' know a lot more about driver programming than trouble shooting these kind of things, but you could consider restoring to a working backup of your project.

I couldn't It is loosing connection to quickly. Right now I am just removing all non essential, or all easy to set up things. Might factory reset my 800. REALLY don't want to do that. It will take a guy like me month to get back to where I was.
badjesus
It is brutal. I seem to go through a bunch of processes and it gets stable. Then I slowly start to connect a navigator. I keep getting ONE step further then bam... crash.... This time i got 3 navigators up and online before it crashed. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to this.I have removed nearly everything I can, that won't be a huge PITA to get going again.
badjesus
Twice now in the last few week, composer has told me that it found corrupted drivers on some of my switches. It is so weird. These are switches i have had FOREVER. It says it corrects them just fine, but why would it even happen in the first place? After removing extra music drivers for SONOS all of a sudden it popped up and said that 2 of my light switches have corrupt drivers. IT asked to auto correct or to mark them with an x. I did the auto correct and everything seemed pretty stable till I went for the 4 th navigator. Now I am back at square 1 with it crashing every 2 seconds.
nikon
Well it looks like it is time to do a factory restore before attempting to reload a backup.

That isn't corruption that is left over from deleting stuff. It's a side affect thst doesn't hurt anything Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
