Brian Bain
Any suggestions on how to get this to work? I want the top button to turn the light on if it's off, and turn it off if it's on. Right now the light goes on and then off. it seems the stop command is not stopping it from running the second conditional?
Thirlmere
Why not just use a toggle in Advanced lighting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Brian Bain
sounds interesting, tell me more! BTW - I still want to understand why the above is not working.
Thirlmere
In advanced lighting add an on scene & an off scene with the selected lights in bothIn the on scene at the top in "toggle scene" use the drop down & select the off sceneThen in connections bind the button to the toggle sceneSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cyknight
Or just toggle the light itself instead on or off. Why bother making a scene. Connection is best but requires Pro. I can tell you the reason though - you're programming this on a switch or dimmer, and it's activating the default command (being on) after the programming.Programming does NOT override a devices default commands. The device will need to be set to detach buttons.
Brian Bain
Programming does NOT override a devices default commands. This! Thanks, that's what I suspected. I don't have Composer Pro. What does it typically cost? Sounds like I should buy it. How do I toggle the light itself?
msgreenf
Pro is only available to dealers Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Cyknight
As far as toggle - you should see all three option: On, Off and Toggle in the same spot.
Brian Bain
Thanks found toggle! Unfortunately Toggle doesn't seem to work either. Probably because of the default behavior can't be overwritten? Sounds like I won't be able to do this without Pro?

I can't speak for your dealer, but some of the guys on here could alternatively help you disconnecting that button - it takes longer to log in than to change that setting..... rek
If I'm understanding correctly what Cy is saying, you can do what you need from HE (I'm assuming you're using HE based on your original screen shot). I'm not at home to see the exact screen but if memory serves, there's a checkbox or radio button option in the properties for your switch/dimmer that let's you select you want to use it as a Keypad (and disconnect it from controlling the load). Very possible - I'll not claim being knowing all the ins and outs of HE. Not that I stated a CONNECTION required Pro - not the button detach
Matt Lowe
if you are looking to program this to toggle the light i would do this. this would not need a dealer but would help defeat the binding create a new variableprogramming should look like this. When button is pressed If Variable is true delay 1 secound turn off light set variable to false stopset variable to true
South Africa C4 user
Hmmmm... But getting a dealer to bind it in is surely the best approach?
Cyknight
Hmmmm... But getting a dealer to bind it in is surely the best approach? Yes - binding is best, because it would also allow for LED tracking - and no 1 second delay for turn off. Plus if it's a dimmable light you'd get ramping as well.
