shareez
Hey guys! Hoping someone can help me with this. I used to be able to restart my controller [HC800] remotely by using a software like hercules to tcp into the system and send a reboot command. After the upgrade to 2.8, i am no longer able to do so following the instructions below: https://control4hacks.wordpress.com/2013/02/23/control4-system-manager/ Is there an easier way to reboot the controller every so often without actually going to the rack and power cycling the controller in 2.8? Thanks!

shareez
I apologize but I'm not very savvy with this. Any way you could post a short how-to? Thanks!
SY3
Use an application called Putty. You'll need to know the IP address of your controller and the root password. Its a console to your controller. Just type reboot at the prompt. Not sure if its changed in 2.8. Good luck.
jillmark99
Or just set up a custom button, add the houselogix reboot driver to your project and then program the custom button to execute the reboot command.

A much safer option if you aren't familiar with SSH and Linux.
jfh
After reading the article, why bother creating the driver when it's already been done? The HouseLogix driver is free, tested and works well with no chance you can screw things up.
