RobbieF
Hi I'm thinking of adding just one or maybe two pairs of outdoor speakers (No Sub) to an outdoor area for ambient / background music. Has anyone used the Triad Garden Array Satellite Speakers before? Would these be suitable when paired up with a Control 4 PAMP8 100W Amplifier, with no Sub? Thanks in advance! Topfox
I have the garden array setup - 8 speakers, and sub. Being run by a crown amp and a sony receiver. I absolutely love them, and is the one thing in my whole Control4 setup that I get the most compliments on.
Control4Savant
How large is the area? Triad also only offers 4" sats in their Garden array system so you might be looking for Episodes which are 4/6/ or 8"... Have great sound but outdoor systems without a sub are defiantly not the same..
Unsocialtoaster
Yeah, if you are able to fit the sub then it would definitely be a benefit to the system. A 4" speaker can only do so much by itself!
Köhler Medientechnik
Satellites are not meant to be run without a sub. According to the datasheet, their cut-over frequency is at 100Hz which is too high for running alone.
RobbieF
Thanks for the response guys. Here is a Sketchup of the area (Probably should have started with this). Essentially, I have a 6 meter opening into a dining room, which has a set of Triad ceiling speakers, and directly outside of this area, is a deck, and following on from this is an outdoor eating area. Given that the outdoor table is right next to our neighbours, I wanted to use small directional speakers, rather than just crank the volume from the indoor ceiling speakers..... Am I going down the right road?
Unsocialtoaster
Yes, sat/sub systems are designed to give you good coverage of an area without having to crank the volume up and annoy the neighbours. You could put a sat at each corner of the table patio, or all along the flower bed, and the sub in the flower bed too, that should be plenty to cover the Dining area. That looks like a really great space you have btw! RobbieF
Köhler Medientechnik
I would place the sats along the fence, pointing towards the table, away from your neighbour. I´d strictly avoid sats pointing towards your neighbour. RobbieF
