need new programmer

Recommended Posts

This guy sent me a message and I didn't respond within 28 minutes and then he sends me another message with double question marks (on a Saturday no less). I recommend if you are a remote programmer that you don't work with him unless you plan to provide 24x7 instantaneous response...

There was no reason for you to call me out like that. I didn’t call u out in public. All I said was I needed a programmer.

how would I know what your business hours are? Your on vacation great but how would I know that? So you don’t need to be condescending. Every time you worked on our c4 system I was professional with you and never questioned your pricing, or your work. All I ask for is some sort of communication so I can know if your working or not.

I normally keep my mouth shut on issues like this, but today I am in a mood. You did publicly say you had a programmer that no longer responds. I realize you did not name the programmer. Now if you bumped him in April, and waited until today to bump him again, and gave him 30 minutes to respond, is that really fair? I have a fantastic programmer, he is very flexible with me, takes great care, and doesn’t nickel and dime me. But sometimes I have to wait a week for his support. Now, to be fair, if my system is down, he has always been available to get my back up (note my system has not been down in years but I go back to 2007 with C4 and the early years were not so stable).

Now, if you want 24/7 instant support, then pay for it. I think you will find a programmer that will allow you to pay for a 24/7 quick response service level. By the way, AWS charges their best customers like $250,000 annually for 24/4 service with 10 minute response times. I am not a dealer, and I am not a programmer, and I do not speak for the quality of all dealers and programmers on this forum, but I appreciate the dealers and programmers that give FREE advice on this forum and suggest you show appreciation.

You could have reached out to see is any programmer was able and willing to help you TODAY without throwing anyone under the bus, and you likely would have gotten positive feedback.

I did not throw anyone under the bus. I did not specify the programmer’s name.

I have never nickel and dimed over pricing. Whatever the programmer asked I paid. All I asked was for a response to let me know when he is available to work on the system. I think that’s a fair request. And for him to come on here to call me out although I didn’t specify his name is unprofessional.

And I never requested 24/7 service. Numerous times we went back and fourth with messages and when he was able to work on the system he did. I never said u have to do it right then and there. If you guys would like to see the chat log I don’t mind sharing it on this post.
