Petra
I’m planning to change my LAN/WiFi to Google WiFi - replacing current router and WiFi with Google Nest system. Will I need someone to reconfigure my Control4 system or is it plug and play? Thanks
C4 User
It is plug and play AS LONG AS YOU MAKE SURE ALL C4 DEVICES THAT ARE CONFIGURED FOR IP COMMUNICATION GET THE SAME IP ADDRESS. So you will need to know how your current devices are getting their network addresses. If your current router has static IP reserves, make note of all the static reservations (IP and MACID). Then when you set up your new router, make sure you use the same subnet settings and create the static reservations. After you do this you will want to reboot your system. Petra
Thanks. I’m using DHCP reservations so the devices get the same IP each time.
RAV
Mesh networks are not advised by Control4 ejn1

You will not get the same IP each time using DHCP. Some routers will issue the same IP for a set time period. But if you change routers you definitely will not get all the same IP’s. If you win the lottery or get struck by lightening, you might find one device matches :). The only way to ensure the same IP is either static reservations in your router or static in setting in each device (NOT RECOMMENDED). I believe you are both talking about the same thing.
