Ea5 stops loading until power cycled

sk86

Question

I have a control4 ea5 controller which loses internet connectivity with everything every 12-48 hours. It started recently and has gotten more intermittent. once power cycles it works as if nothing was wrong.

I feel it’s the controller on its way out. Thoughts?

What network equipment are you using? Every time I have come across this, it has been network related. Does the ethernet lights still flash when it loses connectivity?

Also, are you sure its not an IP conflict?

pakedge RK-1 is the router, I have in place. The ethernet lights do flash when it loses connectivity.

90% of issues I see similar to this are network loops caused by Sonos or other things.. Or IP Conflict.. Are you using a managed switch? Any chance you can enable STP if so?

Otherwise, probably worth speaking to an online dealer like @chopedogg88 or @msgreenf (there are likely others too). It could also be a buggy driver too

I'd say another 5% being a driver causing a loop (any new drivers or updated drivers recently?) with 4% it being a programming issue (loop programming - anything new added there?).

I'd say 1% chance it's the controller being the issue in this case...

But yeah contact the above two to see if they can remote in to see what's going on.
